ANDERSON, Lester Elliott
ANDERSON, Lester Elliott - 75, French River, Pictou Co., died Wednesday, September 3, 1997, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Elliott and Laura (MacLellan) Anderson. He was a resident of French River for all of his married life and was an adherent of French River Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the Second World War, also having served in Korea. For a number of years, he owned and operated a service station in French River. He also worked in the lumbering industry and was one of the founding members of Local 1178, Jointer and Carpenters of America. He also had owned and operated commercial fishing gear for some 20 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Evelyn Haggart; daughters, Rhonda (Mrs. Curtis DeCoste), Bedford; Wanda (Mrs. Harald Preuss), Woodfield; sons, Fred and wife Betty, Thorburn; Frank, Woodfield; Duncan and wife Cora, Calgary, Alta.; 13 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; sister, Grace (Mrs. Edgar Boudreau), Tracadie; brothers, Henry and Edward, both of Avondale. He was predeceased by sister, Mildred MacDonald. His remains are resting at H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, with visitation today from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday from French River Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Cameron officiating. Burial in French River Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in his memory may be made to French River Cemetery fund.
