CUIN, William A. (Bill) - 88, Glen Haven Manor, formerly of 170 Grant St., New Glasgow, died Saturday, June 27, 1998, in the manor. Born in Epping, Essex, England, he was a son of the late William and Mary Cuin. He had been a resident of Glen Haven Manor for the past four years prior to residing on Grant Street. He had resided in Lachine, Que., until 1962 and had worked for Can Car Ltd., Montreal, for 25 years. He was a tool and die designer at Trenton Steel until retirement. He was a longtime member of New Glasgow Gyro Club and member and past president of the Lions Club while in Montreal. He was an avid golfer, honorary member of Abercrombie Golf and Country Club and had been club champion three times. He was an avid fisherman and was very involved with coaching sports and had played professional hockey in England for the Brighton Tigers. He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Cruickshank, New Glasgow; daughter, Lorna (Mrs. Lance Scaravelli), Halifax; sister, Dolly Larivierre, Ville de Salle, Que.; grandchildren, Larry and Linda; great-grandchildren, Rachael and Laura. He was predeceased by his only son, Donald Thomas. Cremation has taken place. No visitation. A public memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in H.W. Angus Funeral Home chapel, New Glasgow, Rev. Foster Jenkins officiating, followed by a time of fellowship. A private family graveside service will be held in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Parkinson's Foundation of Canada.
