MacLEOD, Iona Norma A. - 81, Fairview Street, Antigonish, died peacefully June 28, 1998, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Catherine (MacKinnon) MacDonald. She had been a resident of Antigonish since 1958. She was an active member of the Liberal party; life member of An Comunn Gaidhealach and member of Kenzieville Presbyterian Church. She was a former member of Antigonish Highland Society and St. Francis Xavier University Faculty Wives. Iona was a supporter of many charities. Surviving are cousins, Sheila Bain (John), Noreen Adams, Scotland; Murray MacKinnon, Etobicoke, Ont. She was predeceased by her husband, Maj. C.I.N. MacLeod; brother, Donald MacDonald. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish. Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday in Kenzieville Presbyterian Church, Pictou Co., Rev. Alexander MacDonald officiating. Burial to follow in Glen Bard Cemetery. Donations to Antigonish branch of Canadian Cancer Society or Glen Bard Cemetery fund.
