O'BRIEN, Gertrude Mae
O'BRIEN, Gertrude Mae - 86 of New Glasgow, passed away in the Aberdeen Hospital on March 12, 1999. Born in Eden Lake on November 3, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Catherine (Wood) Miller. She was a graduate in Nursing from the Highland View Hospital in Amherst. She was a member of Trinity United Church in new Glasgow and an active member of Unit A, United Church Women for many years. Surviving are her son Leslie, QC; daughter-in-law Karen, Halifax; and two grandchildren, Catherine C. O'Brien Scarlett and husband Blair W. Scarlett, Toronto; and David A.L. O'Brien and fiancee Sarah Haynes, Halifax. She is also survived by her sister, Mildred MacKinnon, Brockville, Ont. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry; brother Harry Miller; two sisters, Sally Morrison and Peggy Brown. No visitation by request. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 15, 1999, in Trinity United Church, New Glasgow, Rev. Norman Marple officiating. Burial in Lorne Street cemetery with a reception to follow in the church hall. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
