MacDONALD, George A. (Gunner) - 74, Maple Street, Trenton, passed away Sunday, July 12, 1998, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Trenton, he was a son of the late William Guy and Annie Elizabeth (Duncan) MacDonald. He was a former welder at Hawker Siddeley Ltd. and owned and operated Gunners Taxi for 14 years. He was a veteran of the Second World War and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 29, Trenton. Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Clark; daughters, Carol (Mrs. Hughie MacEachern) and Christine (Mrs. Charles MacInnis); sons, Leslie (Lux) and wife Colleen, Davey and wife Pat, Lewis (Boo) and wife Alice, Robbie and Billy, all of Trenton; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Genesta (Mrs. Hector MacInnis), Pictou Landing Road. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kenda Langley; sisters, Dallas, Shirley and Verena; brothers, John (Guy) and William. Visitation will be 3-5, 7-9 p.m. today, July 13, in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Church, Rev. Norman Marple officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Summer Street Industries.
