LEWIS, Cecil Arthur - 90, Glen Haven Manor, formerly of Norma Street, New Glasgow, died September 11, 1997, in the manor. Born at Point Edward, Cape Breton Co., he was a son of the late Arthur and Miriam (Webber) Lewis. He was retired from the Department of Mines. He was a member and former elder of Trinity United Church; member of the Knights of Phythias, where he was past chancellor and past district deputy, and member of the Steeltown Friendly Group, Trenton.
Surviving are daughters, Kaye (Mrs. Ken Jarvis), Lower Sackville; Marlene Dawson, Ottawa, Ont.; Doreen (Mrs. Merle Thomson), Bedford; Wendy Lewis, New Glasgow; son, Keith, Lewis Road, Chance Harbour; stepdaughters, Sheila (Mrs. Joseph MacDonald), Toronto; Carol Thompson, Gabriola Island, B.C.; stepson, Howard Thompson, Lethbridge, Alta.; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Grace MacGregor; second wife, the former Roberta Porter; three brothers and five sisters; a grandchild. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral 2 p.m. Monday in Trinity United Church, New Glasgow, Rev. Shawn Redden and Rev. Gary Tonks officiating. Burial in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations to Trinity United Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society.
