MacEACHERN, Anna Katherine - 80, MacDonald Street, Antigonish, died September 16, 1997,
in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Grand Anse, Richmond Co., she was a
daughter of the late Duncan and Florence (MacIntosh) Buchanan. She was a graduate of St.
Martha's Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1939, and worked as a nurse at the hospital.
Surviving are daughters, Lynn (Mrs. Andre Layes), Antigonish; Louise (Mrs. Brian Gillis),
Abercrombie; son, Ian, Shubenacadie; sisters, Rita Pedersen, Onslow; Jean Adams, Coxheath;
half-sister, Louise Shaw, Tacoma, Wash.; brothers, Bert, D.J., Grand Anse; five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel; son, David; stepbrother, John. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish. Funeral 2 p.m. Friday in St. James United Church, Antigonish, Rev. Keith Hagerman officiating. Cremation to follow. Burial at a later date in St. James and St. Paul's Cemetery, Antigonish. Donations to Antigonish Home Care or St. James United Church memorial fund.
