BUCKLES, Henry James - 80, Pleasant Street, Stellarton, died August 30, 1997, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late George and Amelia (Brooks) Buckles. He was a resident of Stellarton all of his life, where he was a member of Christ Anglican Church. He owned and operated a trucking business for 40 years. He later went on to work with the Department of Mines and Natural Resources, from where he retired. He was a member and past master of Keith Masonic Lodge 23, Stellarton, and member of Order of the Eastern Star, Harmony Chapter 25, Stellarton. He was a former volunteer member of Stellarton Fire Department and a member of Stellar Curling Club, Stellarton. Surviving are his wife, the former Frances Elizabeth FitzRandolph; daughters, Joan (Mrs. Edward Hudry), Anne Buckles, Stellarton; sons, Brian, Stellarton; Frank, Dartmouth; eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Gladys Diggins, Alice MacLean. Funeral was held September 1 in Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton, Rev. Frank Likely officiated. Cremation followed. Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton. Arrangements entrusted to H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton.
