MUNROE, Clyde Alexander
MUNROE, Clyde Alexander - 50, Scotch Hill, Pictou Co., died April 17, 1998, in Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital, Pictou. Born in Brockville, Ont., he was a son of Mary (Regan), Saint John, N.B., and the late Vernon Munroe, and was raised by his grandparents, the late Gavin and Gladys Munroe. He was known throughout the county for his artwork and sign painting. He was a member of the Antigonish Etcher Society and enjoyed sailing. In recent years, he became fond of walking and hiking various trails throughout the province. Surviving are his wife, the former Alta Langille; daughters, Sandi, Allayna, Pictou; son, Carlton, Lyons Brook; two grandsons; sister, Bonnie Munroe, Texas; brother, Ronnie, Halifax; half-brother, Jimmy Gardener, Saint John; companion, Lyn-Sue Wice, New Glasgow. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral 2 p.m. Monday in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Westville, Rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. Burial in Stillman Cemetery, Six Mile Brook. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or St. Francis Xavier University Art Gallery.
