MacDONALD, Margaret Melinda - 95, Shiretown Nursing Home, formerly of Austin MacDonald Road, Pictou, died October 16, 1998, in the home. Born in Kildare Capes, Tignish, P.E.I., she was a daughter, and the last surviving child, of the late William G. and Matilda A. (Smith) Getson. A Silver Cross Mother, she was a lifetime member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 16, Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church, Pictou. A wonderful mother and loving and caring grandmother, she was much loved by all. She is survived by sons, Lawrence, Three Brooks; William, Burford, Ont.; Kenneth, Division Road, Pictou; Melville, Dartmouth; Stuart, Austin MacDonald Road; daughters, Elizabeth (Mrs. Irving Buckler), Truro; Charlotte MacDonald, Scotch Hill; Sarah (Mrs. Gerald Langille), Caribou River; 36 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Austin; son, Arthur; infant daughter, Margaret Catherine; grandson, Willie. Funeral will be held 4 p.m. today in First Presbyterian Church, Pictou, Rev. Iona MacLean officiating. Burial will be in Haliburton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou. Arrangements entrusted to McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou.
