Dedication


Some of the bravest Polish men and women left their homes at the begining of the 20th century
from ports like Bremen and Antwerp and crossed the Atlantic to start a new life. Some of these
people settled in southern West Virginia and belonged to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Parish.
Their church was built in 1906 and contained a reminder of the homeland, a painting of the
Black Madonna. Since we can no longer thank these people we must remember them and their heritage.
