At the moment I have only done a preliminary survey of this village
as the 2 visits I have made have been at the beginning and end of 2 walking
trips.
Dabrowice is quite well known in the region as it has the remains of a Firlej family castle which has been bought by the Roman Catholic church as a kind of centre for religious studies. Parts of the original castle remain, incorporated into a later building. Dabrowice lies in the valley of the Czechowka river, a small river in an area of rolling farmland through which it is very pleasant to walk. for industry there is a small brickworks of a type dotted all over the region. You would hardly know it were there except for the chimney.
The remains
of the old Firlej castle from the 17th century, overpowering the 20th century
building it is currently attached to like a cuckoo chick in a sparrows
nest. rawings from the 19th century show two towers like this, but almost
all signs of the other has disappeared.
The Roman
Catholic parish church
Some small
riverside cottages at the east end of the village.
The brick
works, nestled in a small fold of land at the eastern end of the village.
