The Gmina of Jeziorzany
The gmina of Jeziorzany has a population of 3325 and covers an area
of 66 sq.km. It can be divided into two regions; the morainic hilly area
of the Zelechow Heights to the north with several large wooded areas, and
the wetlands of the Wieprz river in the south. Lakes and ponds in a mixture
of wetlands and meadows are a feature of the latter.

Blizocin
Blizocin is on a small country road between Jeziorzany and Sobieszyn,
on the banks of the Wieprz river. The main part of the village is on a
small side road and there are quite a few outlying farmsteads on the area
of dry land on which the village is built. To the south is the river, to
the east and west there are wetlands, and there is a large wood to the
north.
Borówka (Borowka)
This consists of about three farmsteads very close to the east end
of Walentynow, divided from this larger village by an arm of a wood.
Glupiów
Half way between Blizocin and Jeziorzany on the north side of a
country lane are a few houses and farmsteads. To the north are some wetlands
and beyond that the beginnings of a large wood. Across the road, to the
south, is a meander of the Wieprz river.
Jeziorzany [Łysobyki](Lysobyki)
A large village on the Wieprz river, surrounded by wetlands and with
a large lake just to the northwest. The village has many old houses and
received its location act in 1498. Jeziorzany is a relatively recent name,
from 1533 to 1871 it had the status of a town and was known as Lysobyki.
It was an important local trading centre and much of the goods were transported
by boat on the river, which connects with the Vistula. The burghers here
traded in handicrafts, agricultural products and timber. There is a ford
in the river at this point, and one of the villages sources of income was
a crossing tax. Its history was not always a happy one as it was devastated
many times and eventually lost its significance. In the 1831 uprising there
was a battle here, known as the Lysobki Uprising. During WW1 it was on
the border between Russian and Austrian controlled territories. Its history
of being a town can be seen in its street layout and market square.
CHURCH: The Roman Catholic church was built in the period 1782-1798,
of brick on the banks of the river in the Baroque style.

It is built on the opposite side of the small valley to Stoczek. The village
consists of a group of houses by the road and many outlying farmsteads,
some to the west and some to the north. On the northwest edge of the main
part of the village is a small lake, one of a series of lakes.

of Przytoczno. It nestles at the bottom of some low hills on the edge of
the Wieprz river wetlands. A small group of houses in a clearing in a wood
to the northwest of the village, at a distance of about 1.5km, is also
part of this village. The clay found here is used to produce ceramics for
the building industry.

A small village located on a small, low hill on the Wieprz river plain,
surrounded by wetlands and meadows. It is located 2km south of Stoczek,
