Bystrzyca
As its name indicates, this village is built alongside the Bystrzyca river, on its northwestern side. The village itself is built on the first rise of the valley sides and it runs mainly parallel to the river. Above the village the land is arable, but on the valley bottom it is mainly drained meadows. There is a manor house here from 1791. The Roman Catholic parish church was built in 1721.
Latter Day Saints (LDS) have microfilmed records for this place from the 17th century to 1877.

The village is on the high ground above the Bystrzyca river, and a stream flows past the north end of the village and drops down into the main river valley. There are several old wooden cottages beside the church. One of the cottages, owned by a Grzesiuk,  had the luxury of having a bathroom fitted in the 1960's.

Rudnik
A small village along a country road on the outskirts of the city of Lublin. The land is heavily undulating and arable. There are some outlying farmsteads spread across the land to the west of the main part of the village. It is not possible to tell from the map whether this village lies in the gmina of Wolka or Lublin, so I have listed it under both until I can find out for sure.
Sobianowice
A village along the country road between Pliszczyn and Bystrzyca, 500m southwest of Bystrzyca. It is situated at the point where a steep sided small valley opens out into the wide valley of the Bystrzyca river. There is a manor house here from the 19th century.

Some farmsteads and houses along the country lane leaving Wolka to the east. The land to the north rises and is used for arable purposes, whilst to the south is a stream and then an area of drained meadows. Beyond that is part of the railway works of the city of Lublin. This is part of the other Swidnik's and is the 'church village'.
CHURCH: Parafia Rzymsko-Katolicka p.w. Matki Boskiej Czestochowskiej, Swidnik, woj. Lubelskie
Świdnik Duży (Swidnik Duzy)
A large village of houses and farmsteads strung along a straight east-west country road, ending in a large wood at the easterly end. On the south side of the village are several streams running through an area of wetland and meadow. The land rises on the north side and is used for arable purposes. This was once a royal village, created in 1392, so there may be good documentation in the national archives. It was on an important trade route between Pomerania, Great Poland etc. The name comes from a type of wetland meadows flower that grows here.
Świdnik Duży II (Swidnik Duzy II)
Houses and farmsteads along 2 intersecting lanes 1 km to the south of Swidnik Duzy. There is an area of meadows between the 2 villages, whilst to the south the land rises and is used for arable purposes.
Świdnik Mały (Swidnik Maly)
Houses and farmsteads along  the straight country lane that leads east from Wolka to Swidnik Duzy. The latter is very close, to the east. There are streams and an area of meadows on the south side of the village, whilst on the north it is open arable land.
Turka I
The main part of this village is just off highway 831 on the northwest side of the highway, between the highway and the Bystrzyca river. The river meanders as it passes the village. There is a manor house here from the 19th century. There is a new estate of 5/6 storey townhouses and flats being built here as a new, although still separate, suburb of Lublin.
CHURCH: Parafia rzymskokatolicka Ciała i Krwi Pańskiej, Turka 196, Turka, pow. Lublin, woj. Lubelskie. This church is from the 1970's, and although it may have replaced an earlier one it is also possible that previously people here used the one in Wolka.
Turka II
This looks like the older part, but it still performs a similar function as Turka I in that it has an estate of houses for people who work in Lublin, although this one is older and dates from the 1960's and 1970's, with a few more modern buildings.
Wólka (Wolka)
Wolka is a village on the outskirts of Lublin that is expanding fast with new blocks of flats being built to house people who are now able to start buying there own homes. The main part of the village is on the east side of highway 831, built on undulating land. On the other side of the highway a small road leads down to the Bystrzyca river and the bridge to Jakubowice Murowane. There is a factory here, of unknown date and possibly a mill, that has four grey metal siloes, and many small business units. There is also a gas plant here, with 2 'gasometer' storage tanks. The gmina offices are located here in brick buildings of unknown date. They are not good at responding to mail requests but do have the records for 100 years, many of the early 20th century records are actually the church records.
CHURCH: Parafia rzymskokatolicka św. Trójcy, Wólka, pow. Lublin, woj. Lubelskie. This church, which was finished in the late 1980, is unusual as it is round in plan and the roof forms an inverted cone. Behind it, though there is a wooden chapel that was the present church's predecessor. It stands empty now, but is unusual in that the roof goes all the way down to the ground, and is almost certainly 20th century.
