Konopnica [Conopnicza]
A village strung out along a small river in a narrow valley. The southern
half of the village is mainly houses, whilst the northern end is mainly
farmsteads. The land is quite heavily undulating, open and arable. This
village is mentioned in 1342. In 1400 it was purchased by Lublin town council
and became part of the Lublin community (there may, therefore, be records
of the village in the city archives). The brick church dates from 1905,
when it replaced a wooden church on the same site. Brick foundations from
the original church form part of the foundations of the replacement. There
is the ruins of an 18th century belfry.
