As some browsers still can't handle Polish characters, any names with these extra characters are repeated using the nearest equivalent English characters in round brackets '( )'. Names in square brackets '[ ]' are older names for that location.

The Powiat of Swidnik
SWIDNIK is in the central part of the Lubelskie province. it covers an area of 469 sq. km and has a population of 74000 people. It is located on the Lublin Upland, the northern and central area is part of the Swidnik plateau, whilst the southern is part of the Gielczew upland. The northern part is rather flat with areas of meadow and forest and with many streams, in the east there is the Wierpz river valley, whilst the southern section is concentrated on the Gielczew river valley with its modest hills, woods and many ponds.
