The Gmina of Radzyn Podlaski
The gmina has a population of 8200 in the villages and countryside,
plus 17 000 in the town of Radzyn Podlaski, and covers an area of 155 sq.km.
About a third of the gmina is forested and the rest is mainly arable land.

Radzyń Podlaski [Kozirynek] (Radzyn Podlaski)
Radzyn Podlaski is the county town for this powiat (county). It is
located on the Bialka river and has a population of 17 000 people. In 1468
location rights were granted and a village established, called Kozirynek.
It was owned by a succession of families; the Kazanowski's, Mniszech's,
Szczuka's, Potocki's, Sapieha's and Korwin-Szlobowski's. By about 1580,
the name had changed to Radzyn Podlaski, and in the 18th century a large
palace was built, in the Rococo style.
