4Q5. Rybczewice

The Gmina of Rybczewice
This gmina covers an area of 99 sq.km and has a population of 4650. It is part of the Gielczew Upland (itself part of the Lublin Upland) and is notable for the forested hills on either side of the Gielczew river valley. There 1200 farms and the primary crops are grain and sugar beet. There are also 3 sawmills.

Anusin
A few farmsteads on a winding country road as it climbs out of the shallow valley of the Gielczew on its eastern side. The land is open and arable, and there are some small woods in various directions at a distance of between 800m and 1500m.
Bazar
A village on the east bank of the Gielczew river, in an area of undulating arable land. a line of trees lead up a gulley to the east. There are some very small woods on the opposite bank of the river and several fishponds.
Chodylówka (Chodylowka)
A few farmsteads in a large clearing in a wood. The land is slightly undulating and arable.
Choiny
A small village with a few outlying farmsteads in an area of open, undulating arable land, with a wood as the eastern edge of the settlement area.
Częstoborowice (Czestoborowice)
A village on the valley floor of the Gielczew, on the east side of the river. At this point there is a long narrow lake on either side of the river. The land rises quite rapidly to the east and is used for arable purposes.
Felin
A few farmsteads along a straight country road and along the edge of a small wood on the northern side of the road. The land is slightly undulating and arable.
Hektary
Farmsteads on either side of a straight east-west lane as it climbs a slope at a gentle angle. There is a wood at the westesrn end of the settlement area, and a small wood and lake at the eastern end.
Izdebno
The land is flat, open and arable, and there are woods at about a distance of 700m to the southwest and east. The village is located on either side of a small river.

A village on either side of a straight , north-south country road in an area of open, slithly undulating arable land. Just to the northeast is a wood of mixed trees.
Karczew
A few farmsteads on eityher side of a country lane, in an area of slightly undulating open arable land, at the west end of Ksawerowka. 800m to the south is a small wood.
Kol. B±ków (Kol. Bakow)
a few farmsteads on either side of a small track in an area of slightly undulating, open arable land. There is an orchard at the northern end of the settlement area, and a wood some 700m to the east.
Kol. Pasów
A scattering of farmsteads at the end of a lane, with small orchards to the north and another to the south. the land is slightly undulating and arable.
Kol. Pilaszkowice
Some farmsteads on either side of a lane in an area of slightly undulating , open arable land. Ther are woods at the northwestern and eastern edges of the settlement area.
Majdan Policki
A small village with many small woods around it. The land islightly undulating and arable.
Niwa
A very small group of houses or other buildings on the east side of a low hill in an area of open arable land.
Numery
A few farmsteads along a winding track in a small, shallow valley leading into a wood at the western end of the settlement area. The land is open and arable.
Pilaszkowice I
A village built on both banks of the Gielczew river at the point where the minor highway down the valley changes from the east bank to the west bank and then back again after 1km. The land on either side of the valley is undulating, open and arable. There are many fish ponds here. The wooden parish church is at the north end of the village.

Pilaszkowice II
Adjoining Pilaszkowice I at the southern end of that village, it is in much the same condition., but with some outlying farmsteads on a lane on the east side of the valley.
Pilaszkowice Ł±czki (Pilaszkowice Laczki)
A scattered settlement of farmsteads in ana area of undulating, open arable land. In the middle of the settlement area is a large copse. 1.5 km to the northwest is a forest. Pilaszkowice I is 3.5km to the east.
Podizdebno
Houses and farmsteads on 2 lanes, forming an 'L' shape on an area of highland. The land is slightly undulating, open and arable, and descends to the north.
Pyzdówek (Pyzdowek)
A couple of farmsteads in an area of slightly undulating open arable land, at the top end of a small valley.
Rybczewice
A village on the east bank of the Gielczew river, with a lake at the northern end and a wood 1km to the west. The land is relatively flat in the bottom of this valley.

Rybczewice I (Pierwsze)
A small village on the east bank of the Gielczew river, in an area of slightly undulating arable land.
Rybczewice  II (Drugie)
A small village on the west bank of the Gielczew river, opposite to Rybczewice. There is a church at the south end of the village, beside minor highway 837. The land is slightly undulating, open and arable.
Stryjno I
A village on a country road, just west of minor highway 837. The country road parallels the river Radomirka on its northwestern side. The land is relatively flat and open, with a small wood on the other side of the river. One of the main types of farming is for fruit, including blackcurrant.

Stryjno II
A continuation of Stryno I, continuing the village to the southwest.
Stryjno Kol.
Some houses and farmsteads on a small grid of lanes in an area of arable land and orchards. The land is slightly undulating and arable, and is part of a fruit growing area.
Trzcianki
A couple of farmsteads in an area of flat, open arable land, just southwest of Zygmuntow. There is a wood 1km to the southeast.
Wyganowice
A village at the junction of some minor roads with the north-south minor highway 837. The land on the eastern side of the minor highway is meadows, and arable to the west. The land is undulating and open, with some woods to the east and northwest.

Zalesie
Farmsteads and a few houses on a winding narrow lane just northeast of Zygmuntow. The western side of the settlement is bounded by a long wood, and there is another wood 800m to the east. The land is relatively flat and arable.
Zawodzie
A clump of houses on the west bank of the Gielczew river, with a bridge across to minor highway 837. There are woods close to the village in the north and south. The land rises to the west and is used for arable purposes.
Zygmuntów (Zygmantow)
Some houses and farmsteads on a couple of lanes and tracks in an area of open, undulating arable land on the south side of a country road.
