Beauharnois Anglican Cemetery
Cimetière Assemblée ChrétienneThe Beauharnois Trinity Anglican Church is located in the Town of Beauharnois on the shore of Lake St-Louis and the St- Lawrence River in Southwestern Quebec Province in Canada. The cemetery is located at the back of the church which is located at 51 Rue Ste-Catherine between Rue St-Charles and Rue Ste-Marie.
The cemetery is quite small having only 41 surviving monuments in the Anglican sector and 5 in the new Assemblée Chrétienne sector having a total of 109 names inscribed. See the cemetery lot-map. When the property was sold, the sale agreement specified that those anglican families owning lots in the cemetery would be permitted to continue to bury there until the lot was full. No new lots were sold to anglicans after 1980.
In October 2004, a complete set of photographs was taken of the monuments in this cemetery. A complete documentation is being prepared from the photos and available church records but this will take some time to finish. When finished it will be available as a hardcopy book and a CDRom with all the pictures as well as a website showing the inscriptions (but not the photos).
Meanwhile this list showing all the names that appear on the stones has been extracted from the database. It lists the names alphabetically and the ID number for the stone bearing each name. Married women are listed with both their maiden name (where available) and their married name. Names of persons who were buried but do not have a monument inscription bearing their name are not included.
