  138. David J. Ellis, Gorham is north of the White Mountains and rather remote from Goshen. I'm unsure why Isaac would be there. This may be a different, but totally unidentified, person.

  139. David J. Ellis, Conjecture: Correlation of early census records with the warning out and the known ages of Phebe, Samuel, Stephen and Rebecca implies the birth date range.

  140. David J. Ellis, Conjecture: Correlation of early census records with the warning out and the known ages of Phebe, Samuel, Stephen and Rebecca imply a daughter. The Baptist Church records show Phebe, age 21 and Molly on the line before. Maybe Molly is this missing daughter.

  142. David J. Ellis, This may not be the correct Stephen Sisco. Census gives no detail but 5 total and 4 in agriculture suggests four adult males. Ripley Co., IN is a great distance from Cuyahoga Co., OH.

  145. Walter R. Nelson, History of Goshen NH, (1957), pp. 399: "DORCAS, b. Jan. 27, 1800; m. Sept. 1818, Stephen Sischo."

  146. David J. Ellis, The 1850 census data states that both Sylvester and Reuben were born in NH. Reuben's is shown to be Stephen's son by Annie Eliza (Sisco) Orme's letter. Thus, because of age contraints, it is probable that Sylvester is also Stephen's son.

  147. Federal Population Schedule, 21-Jul-1860, pp. 36.28, dw. 243, Farmer Twp., Defiance Co., OH, fam. 243, S. 148. David J. Ellis, Sylvester's death is determined from multiple documents. He is enumerated in the 1860 census but not the 1870, that only enumerates Caroline with three of the children and living next door to a fourth child. His debts are being settled on April 6th, 1867 when he is recorded as deceased. This implies he died in the spring of 1867.

  149. Federal Population Schedule, 16-Jun-1870, pp. 19.30, dw. 163, Farmer, Defiance Co., OH, fam. 152, Caroline Siscoe age 46 sex F keeping house born in OH, Sarah D. age 16 sex F born in OH, Elliott age 14 sex M born in OH, Allice C. age 7 sex F born in OH.

  150. David J. Ellis, The Cutts Genealogy claims this child and two others born after Dorcas Eliza. However, no information is provided that would allow verification of this data. The New Hampshire records do not contain any reference to these children. Milton is included here only because the specificity of his birth date implies that some record does exist.

  151. Annie Eliza Sisco letter, Although Annie has confused her grandfather's name with a great uncle and seems uncertain of her grandmother's maiden name, the letter implies a sibling relationship between Eleazer and Reuben Sisco and a paternal relationship to the husband of Eliza Daphne Wilder. Confirmed by the 1850 census data that ties all back to NH. The presence of other family members in the same place establishes the relationship.

  180. David J. Ellis, Samuel was the first born child, about 1756. Sarah was born about 1760. These conclusions in turn imply that Mary, Elizabeth and Comfort were all born between 1761 and 1766.

  181. Caroline Halstead Royce, New York, Bessboro: History of Westport, Essex Co., NY, Elizabethtown NY 1904, pp. 375. Identifies Dr. Abiather Pollard arrived Westport 1832/1833. Graduate of Castelton Medical College. Born 1808 Bridgewater, VT. Parents Abiather Pollard from MA and Comfort Sisco. Married Hannah Douglass 1835, d/o Ebenezer. Sisco's were at Sisco Bay since at least 1824. Abiather died Westport after 1861.

  182. David J. Ellis, The birth of Dr. Abiather Pollard in 1808 implies the death of this one.

  183. Military Records: Revolutionary War Records, Pension application, Asa Grandey. "May 6, 1823 Asa Grandy of Westport, Essex County, New York, 66 years of age, applied again; stated that his family consisted of his wife, Sarah, 62; and granddaughter Levonia Grandy, 11 years old."

  184. David J. Ellis, Conjecture: Census proximity.

  185. Claimed (Unverified), Asa, Jr. was born between 1785 and 1790 and, according to the "Roster War 1812-1814", was killed on April 12, 1814 in the battle of French Mills during the War of 1812.

  186. Federal Population Schedule, 1810, pp. 50.11, Goshen, Addison Co., VT, Asa Grandy. Male: 1 16-26, female: 1 16-26, 1 >45.

  190. David J. Ellis, Proximity in the 1820 census substantiates this claim. Claimant probably has better evidence.

  191. David J. Ellis, I only conjecture that James is Eleazerís son - the case is weak. James first appears in Randolph, Vermont. The birth of two children is recorded in Randolph; Nancy and James. The implication of these births is that James married Betsy Pike.

  192. David J. Ellis, James must be born after Jan 1767 else he would be listed with the family in January 1767. The 1800 census shows him to be born between 1756 and 1774. The Freewill baptist record puts his borth about 1769.
