About RG4 A1, Vol. 84 - Application to lease Crown Reserves

This document concerns applications to lease Crown reserves in Sutton, Stanbridge, Bolton and Potton. The document was located by Mary Munch. Copies may be obtained from Library and Archives Canada, Call number RG4 A1 Vol. 84. The document, that is dated September 10th, 1804 is three applications. The first is by Alexander Griggs who has apparently purchased and improved two lots in Sutton, prior to subdivision of the town and presumably from people without clear title. The second is a multiple application by a list of persons wishing to lease lots in Stanbridge and Bolton. The phrase "actual settlers" suggests they may also already be occupying the lots requested. The third is also a multiple application but by persons described as "the people in Potton". Their agent in all cases is Wm. Sturge Moore, who later represented Bedford in the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada from 1805 to 1809.

This transcription is close to verbatim but format and character set make an exact rendition very complex.
