The Gentle-Welch Cemetery is located west of Franklin Cemetery of Route 202. Andrew Gentle moved from the USA in 1801. He was a native of Stirlingshire, Scotland, born in 1747, the year when the hopes of the Stuart dynasty were brought to an end on Culloden Moor. He was a malt man and brewer of table beer. He emigrated from Dunblane, Scotland in 1784. He married, as his second wife, Anne Yale of Connecticut. She was a member of the well known New Haven family  who gave their name to Yale University. Andrew Gentle moved to Hemmingford, to lot 19, in 1801-1802. The link below provides a list of inscriptions found on the gravestones in this cemetery. The records that start with 'GR' were found in Gerry Rogers' cemetery list of the late 1970's, but no corresponding headstone was found.
