Located in Hinchinbrooke about 200 yards north of First Concession Road and just west of Herdman Side Road, the McClatchie Family Cemetery is situated on a small hill over looking the adjacent fields. The cemetery can be accessed through the nearby farmyard.

mcclat1.JPGJames McClatchie, Sr. and his wife Lucinda Reed, first settled on this property in September 1810. Prior to settling here, James had pioneered both in the Dewittville and Georgetown areas.  McClatchie was a carpenter from Ayrshire, Scotland and he emigrated to Canada is 1801. Lucinda, whose father William Reed had come from Massachusetts a few years earlier, and James met and married two years after he arrived.
