Also known as St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery and recorded by Chateauguay Valley historian, Gerry Rogers, as Rockburn Old Catholic, this cemetery is located in Hinchinbrooke on the north side of First Concession Road approximately 3 kilometers west of the junction with Rockburn Road.
The parish of St. Patrick's was established in 1826, but the parish boundaries changed over time. Indeed, at one time the parish included neighboring areas of the New York State and many headstones in the cemetery and persons listed in the church records are for American citizens. The cemetery originally had a church close by and the most recent church, which burned down in 1929,  was located across the road. The current St. Patrick's Church is located at 1045 Brooke Road.

The cemetery is laid out in rows extending north from the First Concession Road. While I have made no attempt to create an actual cemetery map or identify specific lots, the cemetery is composed of approximately 15 rows of lots with seven rows on the east side of a central avenue and eight rows on the west side of that avenue. A true cemetery map may well show a different number of rows as the headstones are not laid out in a true grid and some rows disappear as you proceed to the north. The row numbers that I have assigned are entirely arbitrary and begin in the south-east corner of the cemetery.

The cemetery listings provided in the the table below identifying the row location include a link to a copy of the photograph from which the information was transcribed. A separate list of interments found in the St. Patrick's Church Records from 1858 to 1939 and for which no headstone was found is provided here, as well as another list of based on Gerry Rogers' cemetery list for this cemetery and an index to the entire set of records.

Many tanks to Bette Hopwood who assisted in the transcription of the information from the photographs of the headstones. Like any transcription, the information provided here is at times a best guess. Where a detail is important to your research, it is highly recommended to seek additional sources to confirm the information. Corrections and additions are very welcome.
If you would like a better copy of a photo taken in this cemetery, please email me with details of the desired picture.
