She is survived by her husband, and three sons, John D., Alexander G., and Cormack. And two daughters, Mrs. A D. Jaffrey and Miss Ethel Paxton, and two brothers, Dr. H. E. Young, of Victoria BC, and Mr. Justice C.B. Young of Prince Rupert British Columbia.

01-10-1932 Edward R. Bruce, beloved husband of Edna Moody, died at Kilbain PQ, age 53 years. Interred at Dundee PQ. He was born in 1878, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bruce. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Edna Moody of Dundee PQ, one daughter,Ruth and one son Aubrey. There are also surviving two sisters, Mary of Huntingdon, Jessie, Mrs. H. Miller of Fort Covington New York, and six brothers, James of Fullerton, Ont., Miller of Vermont, George of Saranac New York, Henry and Fred of Huntingdon, and Archibald of Dewittville PQ. In October 1891 she was married to Mr. Gardner of Dundee PQ. 03-13-1932 Bertha Jane Pollock, beloved wife of Robert Henderson, died at the Gore, Hinchinbrooke PQ, age 51 years . Early Sunday morning news of the death of Mrs. Robert Henderson was received with deep regret by everyone in this community. During a lingering illness which she bore patiently, three months being confined to bed. Mrs. Henderson received the best medical attention available, together with the tender care of a loving husband and family. Bertha Jane Pollock, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.Jno. Pollock, was born in Rockburn PQ in 1881, where she resided until her marriage in 1906. She is survived by her husband and five sons, Delbert, Arthur, Clarke, Mack and George, all at home, also one sister, Mrs. Herbert Inman, and two brothers, Cleve and Edwin of Sparts, Nevada, and Archie of Rockburn. Funeral March 15, from her late residence, to the Gore Church, was conducted by her rector, Rev. W. S. Hatcher, interment taking place in the Gore, Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, formerly Mary Breslow, three sons,Sarsfield, Francis, and Paul, four daughters, Margaret, Florence, Mrs. J. H. St. Martin, and Dorothy, and one son-in-law, Captain J. St. Martin. The deceased is a brother of Mrs. John C. Newman of Huntingdon PQ.

04-03-1932 Rev. Dr. James Patterson, Canada's olders minister, passed away Sunday in his 103rd year. For 60 years in the active ministry of the Presbyterian Church, formerly of Hemmingford. He was of Scottish stock, he is survived by his two daughters, Mrs. C. W. Taylor, and Miss Mina S. Patterson and four grandchildren, all of Montreal PQ. Funeral services were held in the Erskine Church, Montreal, on Tuesday, and the body was taken to Hemmingford for internment in the parish of which Dr. Patterson was pastor for 24 years. He was born in eighteen thirty in the West Barony of Kilsyth, Scotland. Receiving his secondary education at Glasgow University and was ordained to the ministry by the Presbytery of Dunoon in 1857 coming to Canada in 1858 he was inducted into the pastorate of Hemmingford PQ. Dr. Patterson married Roseina Shirriff, daughter of F. W. Shirriff of Huntingdon PQ. And had seven children, of whom but two are living. His wife died in August 1906.

Mrs. Martin was born at Tullochgorum PQ, on April 04, 1867, daughter of William Wilson and Janet Maitland. Receiving her early education at Huntingdon academy, then graduated from McGill University. In 1890 she was United in marriage to the late Mr. W. F. Martin of Dewittville PQ. The surviving members of the family are, Frances, Ernest, Murial and Erle, Mrs. Alexander Robb, (Irene) of Huntingdon, and two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Elliott of Howick PQ, and Mrs. Robert Alexander, of Glendale CA. The deceased was born at St Antoine Abbe in 1861 and with the exception of three years spent in Fall River, Massachusetts, she has always lived in this parish. Interred at Huntingdon PQ.Mr. Blachford was born at Huntingdon PQ on April 17, 1850, a son of the late Cantello Francis Blachford, who came to Canada from Salisbury England in the summer of 1832, and of his wife, Ann Boyd, a native of County Down Ireland. Mr. Blachford is survived by his three daughters,Misses Mabel, Maude, and Bertha Blachford, Mrs. Blachford, formerly Elizabeth Edgar predeceased her husband just eight weeks previously. Mr. and Mrs. Blachford were the last survivors of their respective families.

06-20-1932 Joseph Gamble, beloved husband of Emma G. Lavery, died at his late residence in Herdman PQ, age 72 years. Interred in the Hillside Cemetery. He was a blacksmith and Wheelwright. The late Mr. Gamble was born at Herdman PQ in 1860, learning his trade in the company with his brother, Thomas Gamble. On February 10,1886, he was United in marriage with Annie Howe who died on August 05,1888, leaving a baby daughter, who predeceased him. Again on December 24, 1890, he married Emma G. Lavery, who is left to mourn his loss with four sons and one daughter, James of Oshawa Ont., Orval, Royal and William of Herdman PQ, and Mrs. Douglas Cooper of Elgin Township, also one surviving sister, Mrs. Mary Cogland.

The only surviving sister, Mrs. Maxwell was present, a fourth brother, Archie, makes his home in Prince George British Columbia. He had been in poor health for the past six months, and was confined to bed for the last three weeks. He lived all his life in this vicinity. He was married forty years ago to Miss Mary Ann Purse of the Gore, Hinchinbrooke PQ. He leaves to mourn his loss, his widow, two sons, Charlie, of Lachute Mills, Jimmie of Chateauguay New York, and three daughters, Mrs. D. Douglas of New Erin, Godmanchester PQ, Mrs. N. 12-04-1982 Matthew Gilbert, died at Dewittville PQ, age 78 years.Mr. Gilbert was the fourth and youngest son of the late James Gilbert and Agnes Muir, who came from Scotland and pioneered on the farm where Mr. Gilbert died. He was able to speak, read and write the French language as well as the English language. After his home was destroyed by fire on Dec. 24, 1931, Mr. Gilbert went to reside with his nephew, Mr. James Lambin Franklin Center until his new home was completed. He is survived by his widow and three daughters, Mrs. F. Carscadden, of Virden Manitoba, Mrs. H. S.Jickling, of East End,SK. And Miss Jean, of Winnipeg, and one son, Robert of Winnipeg. Interred in Assinboine Memorial Park.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Murdoch Murchinson, she is survived by one sister, Miss Sarah Murchinson, one son, Lawrence McNaughton, and one grandson, Harry McNaughton, both of this place. Funeral was conducted in Huntingdon by Rev. J.B.Maclean, Interred in the family plot in Isle of Skye Cemetery.

Funeral was held in the Franklin United Church and conducted by Rev. W. Ross, assisted by Rev. Mr. Duncan. Remains were taken to the Rennie United Church, and burial to place in Hillside Cemetery.

He leaves to mourn his loss, one daughter, Mrs. George Simpson, who resided with him, also one son Sam, who resides on the old home, three grandchildren, Lyle Simpson, Lois and Hollis Grey, his wife Lucinda Cleland predeceased him about a year and a half ago. Funeral service was conducted at Knox Church by the pastor, Rev. Jade G. Fulcher, Interred in the family plot.

Mrs. Cassidy is survived by three sons, the Very Rev.Dean Cassidy of St. Patrick's Cathedral in Hamilton Ont., John J. Cassidy of Burlington VT, and Charles H. Cassidy of Franklin Center PQ, and by three daughters, Mrs. Thomas Dooner of Lachine PQ, and the Misses Linda and Irene Cassidy, of Proctor Vermont, a nephew, the Rev. W. H. Cassidy of Proctor Vermont. Funeral was held in Saint Anthony's Church in Montreal, Interred in St Antoine Abbe PQ.
