01-04-1942 Catherine Hogg Wallace, widow of James Cameron, died at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. Thomas A. Burns, 116 Cartier Street, Ottawa Ontario, in her 93rd year. Burial at Huntingdon Québec.

01-03-1942 James S. Cruikshank, died at Blenheim Ontario, age 89 years.

01-01-1942 Thomas Archibald Gamble, beloved husband of Margaret Stevenson, died at his home in Franklin Center Québec, age 52 years. He was born in Franklin Center Québec, on November 08, 1889, youngest son of the late William Gamble and Matilda Brooks. He had always resided there apart from a few years spent in his youth in western Canada. He was the last surviving member of a family of four sons, one brother, Ernest, and sister, Mrs. Adelia Allan, of Masonville Québec, predeceased him several years ago, and two other brothers, William and Fred of Franklin, passed away within the last three years. He married Miss Margaret Stevenson on June 26, 1918, and he leaves only one daughter, Greta. He is survived beside his wife, and daughter Greta, by two sisters, Miss D. Gamble of California and Mrs. Rorison of Howick Québec. Funeral service was held at the Franklin Anglican Church, service conducted by the Rev. Mr. Payne. Burial was in the Anglican cemetery.

12-26-1941 Thomas G. Murphy, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Murphy, and brother of C. J. Murphy of Huntingdon Québec, died suddenly at his home in Los Angeles CA, age 64 years. he was widely known in southern Nevada as a mining executive. He was born in 1878, after being educated in Huntingdon he went to the United States. He is survived by his wife, and three sons, Thomas G. Jr. who is with the U.S. Marine Corps, William, of Glendale CA, and James at home, one daughter, Regina, is now in Washington D.C.. Three brothers, Dan of Tonopah, James of Los Angeles, and Col. J. Murphy of Huntingdon, two sisters, Mrs. Helena McCormick, of Los Angeles and Mrs. Gertrude McGinnis, of Montreal.

12-30-1941 Ella, only daughter of the late Thomas Orr and his wife, Isabella Kyle Orr of Leonia New Jersey, died at Clearwater Florida.

(Not dated) David Whiteford, formerly of Ormstown Québec, died at Canton OH, age 74 years. Mr. Whiteford was born at Ormstown Québec in 1867. On January 07, 1891 he was married to Ann Jane Sadler, and to this union two children were born, Ruth, Mrs. Bert Ralston, and Stanley, both of Canton OH. He has resided in Canton OH for the past 36 years. He leaves to mourn, his widow, one daughter, and one son Stanley, also seven grandchildren, two brothers, James of Canton OH, and John of Ormstown Québec.

01-11-1942 Catherine Isabella Victoria Armstrong,R.N., dearly beloved and only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Armstrong of Dundee Québec. Died at the Montreal General Hospital. She was born in Dundee on May 24, 1917, daughter of Albert F. and Florence Johnson Armstrong. She graduated from Fort Covington high school in June 1937, and in August of the same year entered the nurses training school of the Montreal General Hospital, surviving besides her parents, are three brothers, Frederick Armstrong of Victoriaville Québec, Sergeant Pilot W. Armstrong, with the Royal Canadian Air Force overseas, Pierce, at home. Funeral services were held from the home, then to the Zion Church, service conducted by the Rev. H. Lindley. Burial was in the Zion Church cemetery.

01-01-1942 James Frederick Murphy, beloved husband of Mary Ann Cunningham, died at his home in Ormstown Québec, age 71 years. he was born at Ormstown Québec, Parish of St. Malachie, on February 10, 1870, he was son of the late William Murphy and Mary Ann Caldwell. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Cunningham, John and Frederick, all of Ormstown, and five daughters, Mrs. James Hennessy of Syracuse New York, Mrs. J. R. Farley of Buffalo New York, Loretta of Cornwall Ontario, Kathleen of Rouyn Québec, Dorothy, nurse in training in Montreal, three brothers, John, William and Amos, and one sister, Marietta, and 11 grandchildren. 01-10-1942 George M. Seller, a native of Sherrington Québec, died at Middlebury VT, after a brief illness, in his 80th year. Burial in Middlebury VT. He was the second son of the late John Sellar and Maria Paine, of Sherrington Québec. He leaves to mourn, his wife, four sons, John, Leon and Charles of Troy New York, Willard of Watervliet New York, also two brothers and two sisters, Charles of Hemmingford Québec, Edward of Troy New York, Mrs. J. 01-21-1942 Serah Jane Kelly, widow of the late Samuel Crutchfield, died at Huntingdon Québec, in her 85th year. She was a lifelong resident of Boyd Settlement, she was the only daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Kelly of Hinchinbrooke Québec. She was born on May 01, 1867, educated at Boyd Settlement and at Huntingdon Academy. She was married to the late Mr. Samuel Crutchfield in March, 1882, to which union four children were born. Besides her son, Allen, with whom she lived, she leaves one daughter, Mrs. German Seely, of Picton Ontario, two sons, Charels, of Shawinigan,Falls, and Howard of East Angus, two granddaughters, two grandsons and four great-grandchildren. Funeral service held at the Huntingdon United Church, service conducted by the Rev. Thomas Knowles.

01-24-1942 Thomas Johnston Brown, beloved husband of Margaret Chalmers, died at his residence, 3873 Van Horn Avenue, in his 86th year. He was born in the state of Vermont, in 1856, and when three years at age he came to Port louis with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Brown. He worked in the iron ore mining business, also construction work, also employed by the CPR. He was married to Margaret Chalmers, who survives him. To this happy union, two children are surviving, Mr. E. W. Brown of Huntingdon Québec, and Ethel, Mrs. Arthur Odell, of Toronto ON. Mr. Brown has two surviving brothers and a sister, the brother being Mr. John L. Brown of Fort William ON, and Mr. George P. Brown of Montreal, the sister, is Mrs. J. Cathcart, of Pine Falls Manitoba.

01-29-1942 Mary Muir Morison, widow of the late Thomas Clarkson, and daughter of the late William Morison and Janet Gray of Huntingdon Québec, died at her home, 51 Warren Avenue, Brockton MA. In her 94th year. She was the oldest member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, from point of service and age. She was born in Québec but was married in Brockton and has lived there seventy years. Her father and mother were natives of Scotland, the former living to the age of 75 and the latter to 90, her husband predeceased her about 21 years ago. She is survived by a son, William T. Clarkson, a daughter, Mrs. Oliver B. Poole, both of Brockton, a sister, Mrs. Peter Paul of Huntingdon Québec, three grandchildren, Mrs. Eliot B. Barrett of Northampton, Mrs. Albert S. Brainard, and Miss Janet Gray Poole, both of Brockton, and five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Surviving besides her parents, are four sisters, Mrs. Douglas Deruchie of Malone, Mrs. William Paul, of Dannemora, Mrs. Ivan Crabtree of Toronto ON, Mrs. Larry Foster of Belmore Long Island, two brothers, Archie of Malone and Charles of Albany, several aunts, uncle's, nieces and nephews, and cousins. Burial was in the Morningside Cemetery.

01-27-1942 James W. Havens, son of the late James S. Havens and Emma Cogland, died at St. John's Hospital, in Lowell MA. He was born in Ogdensburg New York. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Helen Graham, of Lowell MA, and one brother, Edward E. Havens of San Diego CA, besides several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held from the Funeral home of Meehan and Kerwin, to 28 Worthen Street, and burial was in the family plot in Westlawn Cemetery. He lived for a number of years West of Herdman Corners before going to Lowell MA to reside.

He was born in Huntingdon Québec, February 13, 1880, eldest son of the late Dr. Charles Marshall, beloved husband of Margaret Mulvaney, whom he married in 1914, she was the daughter of the late Michael Mulvaney of Ormstown Québec, age 62 years. He leaves to mourn, his wife and four sisters, also one brother, Mr. J. Y. Marshall of New York City, and several nephews and nieces. Funeral from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Huntingdon Québec, burial at Huntingdon Québec.

01-31-1942 Elizabeth McDowell, beloved wife of Fred Minto, died suddenly at Franklin Center Québec, in her 75th year. She was tenderly cared for by her daughter, Mabel, she was daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William McDowell. She was 75 years of age last November, and was a lifelong resident of Covey Hill. Besides her husband she leaves her daughter, Mabel, a sister, Mrs. Fred Adams, and two brothers, John, and William McDowell. Funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Bethel Church, conducted by the Rev. M. Armstrong, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Beaton.

He was born in Hemmingford Québec, and lived in the United States for 48 years, spending the last 40 years in Torrington. He was married in 1908, to Sara Moore Chambers who survives him. One son, Ireton J. Williams, a brother, James Williams, of Hemmingford Québec, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Van DeMark and Mrs. Jesse Fulton, of Worcester MA, and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Court Washington F.of A.. Funeral services were held from the Gleason Mortuary on Sunday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock. The Rev. Francis Hine, Rector of Trinity Church, officated. The body was placed in the vault in Hillside Cemetery,PQ.

02-19-1942 Charles Alexander Brown, died at the Mercy Hospital, in San Diego CA, age 63 years. Mr. Brown's parents died in Huntingdon when he was a young man. In 1913 Mr. Brown returned to Canada, going first to Victoria, and a few months later to Courtney, where he purchased a furniture business. He operated the furniture business until about ten years ago, when he sold out and went into retirement. Left to mourn, is a brother, W. J. Brown of Seattle WA, a son, Charles Brown is a Courier in Huntingdon.

02-24-1942 Mrs. Thomas Eaton, sister of Mrs. Arthur Anderson of Huntingdon Québec, died at her home in Chateauguay NY, age 85 years. She was born in Chateauguay on March 07, 1857. Her maiden name was Mary Jane Dalzell, daughter of Samuel and Jane (Graham) Dalzell who were among the early residence of Chateauguay. Her marriage to Thomas Eaton took place on December 25, 1879, a well-known businessman in the town. For many years they resided on a farm in the Earlville section of Chateauguay where two children were born, one who died in infancy. The other, Thomas Allen, was born in 1882, and died in October 1918. His wife, Grace (Trainer) Eaton, died in September 1918. Mr. Eaton passed away on February 03,1937. Thirty-seven years ago Mr. and Mrs. Eaton moved to their residence on Depot Street where she has since resided. Surviving are her three granddaughters, Gladys Eaton, of New York City, Miss Ethel Eaton, a teacher in the schools at Glen Falls, and Miss. Isabel Eaton, a teacher in Claridge NY, also three sisters, Mrs. James H. Cowan, and Mrs. Fred Sweet, of Chateauguay, and Mrs. Arthur Anderson of Huntingdon Québec, two sisters, Mrs. John Simpson and Mrs. Grear Black died many years ago. Funeral services were held at her late residence on Thursday afternoon, service conducted by the Rev Vernon Melville Terwilliger. The body was placed in the vault at the Evergreen Cemetery to await burial in the spring.

03-24-1942 Georgian Arno, died at his home in Ellenburg New York, age 89 years. He was born in 1853 at Westernport, Essex County, and in his early youth move to with his parents to the farm, at Ellenburg, now occupied by his son, Arthur Arno. In 1876, Mr. Arno married Jane Deyo of Lacolle Québec, and then bought the farm in Ellenburg. From the death of his wife, in 1929, to the time of his death, Mr. Arnault lived with his son Albert. He is survived by five sons, Arthur, Herbert, George Jr., Albert, of Ellenburg, and William of Watertown, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and by a brother, John Arno of Alburg VT. Funeral service was held at St. Edmunds Church, in Ellenburg, service conducted by the Rev. O.A. Boyer.

04-01-1942 Henry N. Henderson, died at his home on the Gore, Hinchinbrooke Québec, age 64 years. He was son of the late William Henderson and his wife, Harriet Nelson, and was born on June 1st, 1878, at the Gore, Hinchinbrooke, where he spent all his life. He was first married to Mary Helen Levers, who predeceased him many years ago. Three children were born to this union, Pearl and Clarence, of the Gore, and Linden of Detroit MI. He later married Lillian May Taylor. To this union were born four children, Hazel, Audrey, Nelson and Andrew. He leaves to mourn, besides his widow and seven children, seven grandchildren, two cousins, Gladys Herdman, of Shawinigan, Falls, and Elma Hodges, of Hollywood CA, one nephew, Clifford Henderson, of Bakersfield CA. His only brother, Harley, passed away a few months ago. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, at Herdman Québec, where he served as warden for more than 15 years. Funeral was held on Friday morning at St. Paul's Church. The Rev. W. S. Hatcher conducted the service.

03-12-1942 James Hennigan, formerly of Franklin Center Québec, died at Lebanon NH, age 91 years. Mr. Hennigan was born at Franklin Center Québec, on January 17th, 1851. He married Amelia Waller of Rockburn, who predeceased him twenty-three years ago, one son, Eddie also predeceased his father. Many years ago, Mr. Hennigan and family moved to Lebanon NH, where he has since resided. Two years ago Mr. Hennigan had the misfortune to have his left leg amputated witch left him an invalid. He was cared for during those years by his daughter, Gertie. He leaves to mourn, one daughter, Mrs. Gertie Barnes of Lebanon NH, and one son, Fred Hennigan, of Detroit MI, also one grandson and several nieces and nephews.

05-06-1942 Jane Barrie, wife of the late Robert Smaill, formerly of Huntingdon Québec, died at the residents of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Harvey, 37 David Street, Montreal East. Age 78 years. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Barrie and his wife, Jane Warden of Godmanchester Québec. She was married to Robert Smaill of Elgin Township in 1899, and was left a widow in 1903 with one child, Edna. There were three other stepsons, Alexander, now deceased, Charles Smaill of Joffre AB, and David Smaill of Valleyfield Québec. Two sisters predeceased her, Agnes and Mary, and one sister survives, Lizzie, Mrs. Jenkins of Merlyn Ontario, now in her 82nd year. A funeral service was held in Montreal by her minister there, Rev. Quincy McDowell, at the Joseph Wray Funeral Chapel. The next day, to Huntingdon at St. Andrews Church, service conducted by Dr. McLean. Edmund lost his life when H.M.C.S. Spikenard, was torpedoed and sunk in the North Atlantic, on convoy duty, February 10, 1942. The service was conducted by Rev. E. E. Dawson, director of Lacolle and Hallerton, using the burial service of the Anglican Church, reading a portion of Psalm 107, which is part of the service for those at sea.

Mr. Lucas was born at Ormstown Québec, went to the western provinces and 1898. In 1902, he married Mary McCormick Finlayson of Ormstown Québec, daughter of the late Duncan and Margret Finlayson. Because of poor health, made them move to Vancouver BC in 1928. Mr. Lucas is survived by his wife, Mary McCormick, also two brothers, W. C., of Pueblo CO, R. 07-20-1942 Cornelia Henderson, widow of Charles Bell, formerly of New Erin Québec, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. J. Goundrey in Huntingdon Québec, in her 92nd year. The late Mrs. Bell was a daughter of the late Samuel Henderson and Mary Howe, who came to Canada from County Down, Ireland, in 1825, and settled on the Gore. As the wife of Charles Bell, she lived it New Erin Québec, until her husband's death, when she moved into the town proper. The deceased lady was an active member of St. John's Church, during her long lifetime, and is perhaps the last of the residents of Huntingdon, who were present at the laying of the cornerstone. Interred in the Huntingdon Protestant Cemetery.

She was predeceased by her husband, her youngest daughter, Cora, Mrs. John Jackson Jr. and her brother, the late Mr. Alfred Sutton. She was the only daughter of the late George Sutton and his wife, Emily Earle. She was born at Covey Hill Québec, her husband's died over 31 years ago, and left her with a youthful family of five sons and three daughters, and with a farm to manage. The funeral took place at Bethel Holiness Movement Church, service conducted by her pastor, Rev. George Armstrong. Burial was made in the family plot, at Bethel Church.

08-25-1942 Mrs. Agnes Coyle, of Fort Covington New York, died at the Alice Hyde Hospital in Malone New York, age 64 years. she was born in Fort Covington New York on May 24th, 1887, daughter of the late John P. and Catherine Murphy (Taillon), her husband, the late Hugh Coyle, superintendent of the Grand Trunk Railway, passed away May 30, 1916. They had been married in September of 1912 and resided in Bellevue ON, surviving her are three sons, 1st Lieut. Gibson Coyle, of the U.S. Army Air Corps, who is somewhere in England, Hugh Francis Coyle of Evanston IL, and Philip Coyle of Baltimore Maryland. She also leaves two brothers, Charles A, and Steve Taillon, both of Fort Covington New York. Funeral services were held on Thursday from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Taillon, then to St. Mary's Church, service their conducted by the Rev. J. R. Lauzon, burial in St. Mary's Cemetery there.

He was a Miller by trade and worked for some time at the Gavin's Mill at Kensington Quebec. He was laid to rest by the Masonic order from Buffalo WY, where he resided for a number of years.

(Not dated) Word has been received by Mrs. William Cullen of Outremont Québec, of the death of her brother-in-law, William Thomas Dickenson, formerly of Superior Wisconsin. He has suffered from a heart ailment for several years. He was husband of the late Margaret Janet (Jen) McEwen of Ormstown Québec. In accordance with Mr. Dickenson wishes, the remains where cremated and the ashes strewn on Puget Sound, between Seattle and Bremerton. Surviving are his four sons, Arthur of Port Orchard, Washington, Wilbur of the Navy yard at Bremerton WA, Jean and son Ronald of California, and Ted Dunning of Orillia ON. Mr. Dickenson's second wife died four years ago. There were no children. Six years ago the Misses Gladys and Jean Cullen, visited the Dickenson families in Washington, and later their uncle called on them in Sydney, Vancouver Island.

He was the eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elzar Duquette, formerly of Hemmingford Quebec. Besides his wife, the former Helena Dubois, also of Hemmingford, he leaves to mourn, three children, a daughter, Rita, and two sons, Armand and Normand, all of Montreal, also four sisters and four brothers, one brother predeceased him in Detroit MI, a few years ago. Funeral services were held in the Roman Catholic Church in Hemmingford Quebec.

10-09-1942 Hannah Jane Rember, wife of the late Robert J. McNeil, died at Ormstown Station, age 90 years. She spent her entire life in this community. In the year 1876, she was united in marriage to the late Robert J. McNeil, and to this union 10 boys and one girl were born. Her husband and four sons, James, William, Neil and Norman, predeceased her some years ago. She leaves to mourn, John of Ormstown Quebec, Alex of Minnedosa, Adam of Ormstown, David of Warren VT, Stanley of Franklin, Leslie and daughter Mary, of Detroit MI. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, from the home of her son John McNeil, to the United Church, and from thence to the Union Cemetery. Funeral service was conducted by her pastor, the Rev. C. Leslie Taylor, assisted by the Rev. W. H. Brown and Rev. A. F. Pollock.

She has lived in Calgary for the last 22 years and was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, who resides at 1703-12th Avenue, West, Calgary. A daughter, Margaret, also of Calgary, and two sons, Charles M. of Vancouver, and Ordinary Seaman, Douglas G. MacKeracher of North Victoria, and a sister, Mrs. James McClenaghan of Chicago IL. He was born on September 23rd, 1850 at St Etienne County, Beauharnois Québec, son of Francis Turner and Jessie Tait. He was married twice, first in 1887 to Annie Grant, of Dundee Québec, and after her death, he married his second wife, Wilhelmina Rutherford of Tullochgorum Québec in 1896. He was a cabinetmaker by trade and followed this occupation till he was over 80 years of age. The deceased was born on April 4th, 1868, and had spent his life in the vicinity of Brooklet and Athelstan. Besides his sorrowing widow, formerly Annie J. Thompson, of Gananoque Ontario, and daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Baird (Mary Ann Kelly) of Elgin Township Québec, died at Mrs. Stewart's Nursing Home, in New York City, New York. She was married to Mr. Thompson about 50 years ago in Emerson MB. They settled at Sunnyside Farm, the Thompson Homestead since 1840. In 1936 she moved to West Branch Michigan, to make her home with her daughter, Dr. Sue Thompson, with her she moved to New York City in March of this year and lived there until illness overtook her. She is survived by one daughter, Dr. Sue Hurst Thompson, also of New York, and one grandson, Walter Edward Kyes of Lansdowne, a brother, John K. Baird of Athelstan Québec, also survives, also a number of nieces and nephews. Her husband died in 1934, one daughter, Leah, Mrs. Myron Kyes, predeceased her in 1933, and one son, Dr. Robert Redvers Thompson, in 1939. Another son, Hartly, died in childhood. 11-24-1942 John Smith Rutherford, beloved husband of the late Agnes Logan, died at the Barrie Memorial Hospital in Ormstown Quebec, the remains are resting at the residence of his sister, Mrs. W. G. McGarrigle. He was born in Tullochgorum Quebec in 1864, and married on December 25th, 1890, to Agnes Logan. Agnes predeceased him in 1941.Funeral on Thursday November 26, from the Ormstown Presbyterian Church, by Rev W.H.Brown. interred at Georgetown Cemetery.

11-11-1942 Rev. O. G. Wyman, beloved husband of Diana Ferns, formerly of Hemmingford Québec, died at Chazy New York, age 70 years. He was born in Coplin Maine, October 02, 1872, a son of Augustus and Polly (Moody) Wyman. In 1908, he was married to Miss Hattie Spiller, of Wells, Maine, after his first wife died in 1927, he married Miss Diana Ferns, of Mooers NY, who survives him. She was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. James Ferns, formerly of Hemingford Québec, also an ordained minister. One son, also surviving, Prosper P., one grandson, Charles Gould Wyman of Corinth NY, two nieces, Mrs. Perl W. Dyer, of Stratton Maine, and Mrs. Lura W. Cox of Strong Maine, and a host of friends in Canada and the USA, survive. Funeral was held at the Chazy NY Gospel Mission, service conducted by the Rev. P. P. Stark, pastor of Mooers Wesleyan Church, a former missionary to Africa.

He was a son of the late Mr. John Pollock and his wife, Sarah Miner, he was an expert stonemason. Surviving him are his wife, formerly Jennie Boyd, three daughters, Mrs. James Farquhar of Lake Clear, New York, Mrs. Henry Lawson of Montreal, Mrs. Leland Graves of Fort Covington New York, also two son's, Howard and Orick, both of Peterborough ON. One sister, Mrs. Winman, and two brothers, Edwin and Cleveland, all in Nevada. Funeral service was held in the Rockburn Presbyterian Church, service conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. H. Brown. Burial was made in the Hillside Cemetery.

11-28-1942 William Sutherland Richardson, dearly beloved husband of the late Rhoda Boyd, died at his late residence in Chateaugay Basin Quebec, age 79 years. He was a businessman and philanthropist. He was born at Hemmingford Quebec in 1864, son of the late Edwin Richardson and Catherine McCullough. He later made his home in Montreal, where he established the Crown Laundry Company in 1900. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alvin Davidson, of Senneville, and Mrs. C.C. MacKellar of Montreal, two sons, Douglas, of Windsor Ontario, and Ernest of Montreal, three sisters, Mrs. J. J. Roberts of Montreal, Mrs. B. McKenzie and Mrs. Emily Unwin, of Vancouver, two brothers, Ferdinand and Ernest of Montreal, 16 grandchildren, one great grandson, William Boyd, son of the JC Boyd of Huntingdon, is a nephew. Funeral services from the Joseph C.Wray Funeral Chapel in Montreal.

11-25-1942 Mathilda Helen Kernan, beloved wife of John F. Walsh, died at her home in Huntingdon Quebec, age 59 years. She was born on April 19, 1883, eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Owen Kirnan of New Erin Quebec. She was married to John F. Walsh of Hinchinbrooke on April 23, 1906, who survives, also three children, Rapheala, Mrs. Ambros Lavery, of Chateauguay New York, Agnes and Fred at home, and a little granddaughter, Sheila Ann Lavery. Also three brothers, Frank of Schenectady, New York, Fred of Glenn Bain Saskatchewan, and Wilfrid of Huntingdon, also several nieces and nephews, one sister, Mrs. Joseph Feeney, and three brothers, James, Edward and Thomas, predeceased her. Funeral was held from St. Joseph's Church in Huntingdon Quebec, burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

12-04-1942 Janet Cullen, beloved wife of John Hastie, died at Ormstown Quebec, in her 79th year. Mrs. Hastie was born at Tullochgorum, October 1864, she was married March, 1887. She was the eldest child of the late James Cullen and Dorothy Paxton, his wife was one of a family of nine, of whom three sisters in two brothers survive. Her own family consisted of one son and two daughters, James, Edward and Agnes, who predeceased her, and Muriel, Mrs. Clarence Storrie, who survives. In addition, Mrs. Hastie took charge of two children of a sisters family when the mother was taken from them in childhood and they were reared under her unselfish motherly care, Gwynneth, Mrs. MacLeod, and Dorothy Cullen. Funeral services were held in St. Paul's United Church, service conducted by the Rev. Leslie Taylor, assisted by the Rev. F.N. Payne, and the Rev. A.F.Pollock. Burial was made in the Ormstown Cemetery.

12-02-1942 Mrs. Jane Quinn, died at the home of her daughter, Agatha Lachance in Huntingdon Quebec, she was the former Jane Denneen, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Dinneen of Huntingdon Quebec. She was married to John Quinn, who died about 25 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Quinn resided on Wellington Street, in Malone New York, for a number of years. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Agatha Lachance, one granddaughter, Mrs. Charles Dempsey of Fort Covington New York, and one great-grandson, James Dempsey of Fort Covington, also one nephew, Ward McGill of Huntingdon. Funeral services were held in St. Joseph's Church, Malone New York, interred in St. Joseph Cemetery,in Malone New York.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, and three daughters, Bessie of Huntingdon, Robina at home, and Mildred, who is attending school in Montreal, and one sister, Mrs. R. D. McEwen of Kingston ON. She is survived by one son, Orrin W. Fisher,of Williamstown MA, and five daughters, one son, Leander, predeceased her in 1924. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was born in Franklin Center Quebec, and moved with her parents to Chateauguay as a child. She was married to Dr. John G. Wills, about 35 years ago, and has since lived in the vicinity of Albany. She is survived by her husband and one son, Gordon Wills of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, one sister, Mrs. Marion E Oliver, of Marblehead MA, and a brother, J. Henry Gamble, of Malone New York. Funeral services were held at Delmar with burial at Ellsmere New York.

12-18-1942 Margaret L. Casey, wife of the late Rev. J. J. Casey, and eldest daughter of the late James Watson, D. D., and his wife Margaret Lind, died at Huntingdon Quebec, in her 86 year. She was married to the Rev. J. J. Casey when 21 years of age. The Rev. Mr. Casey died at the time of the smallpox epidemic in Montreal, where he was then the minister of Taylor Church, leaving Mrs. Casey a widow at 28 years of age. In 1929, Mrs. Casey moved to Huntingdon, where her sister, Mrs. Mary W. Sellar resided. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Robert Sellar of Huntingdon, Mrs. G. W. Georgina Fleming of Halifax Nova Scotia, and Mrs. H. E. Rosalind Young, of Victoria British Columbia. Funeral service conducted by the Rev. Thomas Knowles and the Rev. J. B. McLean, held at her late residence, burial in the Huntingdon Protestant Cemetery.

12-16-1942 Dr. J. McCurdy, beloved husband of Eliza McWhinnie, died in Granby Quebec, in his 87th year. He was born in Ormstown Quebec, June 8th, 1856, and was married on September 25, 1889 to Eliza McWhinnie, by the Rev. Dr. Morrison, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1939. About 1892 Dr. McCurdy moved to Granby, and opened his office as a veterinary surgeon on City Avenue, and has been there ever since. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Herbert and Wilbur, both the Montreal, and three grandchildren, Mr. John McCurdy and the Misses Shirley and Betty McCurdy. Funeral service held from his late residence on City Avenue.

After the death of her second husband, Mr. Elder, she made her home with her daughter in Massena.
