Edgar Campbell
Budge, of Montreal, manufacturer, was born in this city, October
8, 1882, a son of
Daniel Andrew Budge
and Annie Robertson, and acquired his
education here, graduating from high school and then entering business.
He began as a clerk in the employ of Sherwin-Williams
Company, where he remained from 1898 to 1908. He then became sales
manager and assistant to the general manager, then secretary-treasurer,
sales manager and director of the Alaska Bedding
Company Limited, during the period between 1908 and 1913. He then
purchased the Wilson Carbon Paper Manufacturing Company
Ltd., and changed the name to the Budge Carbon
Paper Manufacturing Company Ltd. The enterprise was established
in 1906 and manufactures carbon paper, typewriter ribbons, wax stencils
and similar products. The head offices are at No. 751 St. Antoine Street,
Montreal.
Mr. Budge is a director of the Canadian
Ayrshire Cattle Breeders' Association, is independant in politics,
a Presbyterian in religion and devotes his recreational periods to farming
and hunting. His principal clubs are the Engineers
Club, Montreal Hunt and Senneville
Country Club.
He maintains the family residence
at Thorncroft Farm, Ste. Genevieve, Quebec. Edgar Campbell Budge married
May 20, 1906,
Annie Lachute Wilson, daughter
of
J.C. Wilson,
and they are parents of one son.
