MITCHELL, Miss Elizabeth Simpson - Physician Daughter of Alexander Mitchell, merchant of Montreal, Elizabeth Mitchell was born in Montreal and educated there. She graduated M.D. with high honours from the Women's Medical College in Kingston, Ontario (Queen's University) in 1888 ; L.S.A. London, 1889 ; L.R.C.P. Edinburgh, 1889 ; M.R.C.S. Edinburgh, 1889 ; C.P.S. Glasgow, 1889, and since then has been in successful practice in Montreal. She is regarded as "The first lady doctor in Montreal, if not in the province of Quebec". She was present at Delhi when King Edward was proclaimed Emperor of India, 1902-1906. Address: 377 Peel
