John "Jack" Warminton, son of Richard Warminton Jr. and Isobella Nichol, was born about 1863 in Montreal. He was the oldest child; his three other siblings were Richard "Dick" Warminton III, Mary Brigham Warminton Snowdon, and William "Bill" Warminton. He married Gyp (family name unknown) in Montreal; they had no children. John Warminton was the Quebec area representative for Vilas Company. During the Great
War, John Warminton was a commissioned officer, rising to the rank
of Major, in the Canadian Grenadier Guards.
He died in the spring of 1915 while serving, and is buried in a military
cemetery near Festubert, Belgium.
