Family Graves in Tiverton, RI
"Uncle" John's daughter Priscilla5 Westgate Borden is buried in Rhode Island
Historical Cemetery, TIV #61 is located off Route 138 in Tiverton, close
to the Fall River line, on the former Borden Farm on Mathew Road, 50 feet
north of Tel Pole #2. The small family cemtery, now surrounded by houses
and cyclone fence, looks out over Mount Hope Bay. Before development, there
would have been a beautiful view of Mount Hope on the other side. There
are about 14 burials, but most of the stones are deteriorated and unreadable.
The five readable stones include those of Priscilla and her husband Benjamin,
their son Richard and his wife Sally Tyler Chase, and their grandson, Richard
A., son of Richard and Sally, who died in 1840 at the age of five years.
