Mar 4 Worked 1 hour at Daniel’s. Sett hen in the henhouse on 16 eggs. #1
first chickens came off today: eight hatched out, one died; three bad eggs
and two with chickens in them. Mar 10 lost one chick from this hen. Mar
12 another chick died.

Mar 7 Helped do the washing. Worked 4 ½ hours at Daniel’s paper
hanging. Hen #2 came off Mar 18, hatched out 13 chickens,2 did not get
out of the shell, one dead.

Mar 8 Finished hanging paper at Daniel’s. Worked 4 ½ hours. #3 hatched
out 7, broke 4, 3 bad eggs, a dead chick.

Mar 9 Rainy all day. Hen #4 hatched out 10 chicks; 4 bad eggs, 1 egg broke.

Mar 10 Rainy all day. Took up carpet upstairs. Hen #5 hatched out 16 chicks.

Mar 11 Put down carpet upstairs. Hen #6 hatched out 15 chicks.

Mar 12 Hen #7 hatched out 12, 2 bad eggs. Hen #8 hatched out 12 chicks;
one bad egg and 1 dead chick.

Mar 14 Made window screen for Mrs. Wm. Chase, time: 2 hours Attended school
meeting. Collected $8.86 by subscription for the library.
