Looking for info on SULLIVAN, Johanna born Dec. 1836 in Newport, RI. I have had no luck with the City Clerk of Newport or Dept. of Health finding a birth certificate. Seeking information on William PHILLIPS of Newport, father of Sarah (ca.1708-1770), who married Francis BRAYTON. In the burial yard where Sarah is buried in Coventry, R.I., are two stones: "WP 1757 A 72" and "RP 1771 A 86." Could these be Sarah's parents, William & R___ PHILLIPS? If so, they were born about 1685.

COOPER, William; COOPER, IsaacI am looking for information on individuals with these names in Newport, Newport Co, RI during the period 1744-l800. There was an Isaac COOPER who was a boatswain on a gun boat in Newport in 1744. I think he came from New Haven, CT but not sure. I think he had a son Isaac Jr who married Prudence MORTIMER in 1766. There was a William COOPER who married Phebe MORRAN in Newport that may be my ancestor. There was a Isaac COOPER listed on the State Census of Newport in l744 that may have been Isaac Jr previously mentioned. Also there was a William COOPER listed on the 1790 census living in Newport that I feel was my ancestor. I think he was the father of my GGG Grandfather Isaac COOPER born in RI in 1784. Also there was a Isaac Cooper who married Mary CRANSTON in1743. If anyone has any information on any of these individuals, I would appreciate hearing from you. Looking for information on CASWELL family of South Kingston, specifically a Philip A(Agustus?) CASWELL Born 1770/1771 in RI, died before 5 Oct 1853 Alleghany Township, Venango County, PA.I believe him to be the son of John CASWELL (7 Mar 1742-1779) and Hannah WEST (1740-3 Aug 1775. Looking for information on Susan BIRD FRIERS (FRYERS) and sister Elizabeth Hannah FRIERS. Don't know dates of birth, but Susan died in 1853 and Elizabeth in 1855 in Charles county, MD. Susan's death notice states bornin Newport, RI Elizabeth married Francis NEWMAN in MD. Evidently Susan never married.

Seeking information about my Great Grandfather, Isaac Alexander DUVALL, b May 1824, Little Compton, Rhode Island, d. Nov. 13,1904, buried in Fantinehill Cemetery, Ellenville, NY. Married in Sept 11,1851 to Henriettta Amanda WOOD, b. Jan. 1834, d. March 26,1890. Third child was Charles Henry DUVALL, b. Oct, 1854 d. Jan. 6, 1941, my grandfather. Isaac was said to be a whaler out of Newport is about all I know of him. He later lived in Woodburne and Ellenville NY. All are buried in the Fantinehill Cemetery. I have my DECKER side all the way back to immigrant Jan BROERSEN DECKER from Husum, Schlesvig, a settler in the Dutch Colonies of Fort Orange and Wiltwyke (Kingston) NY in the 1600's. Thank you.
