Looking for descendants of John and Elizabeth ARNOLD APLIN, who settled in Providence, RI during the mid 1700's. One of their sons was Benjamin APLIN who married Lydia GRAY APLIN, she was the daughter of Amase and Lydia TURPIN GRAY. Benjamin and Lydia had 15 children, the 11th was William Henry APLIN, my great, great grandfather who owned several thousand acres of land in Jackson County, WV. I would like to find out the names and birthdates of William Henry's brothers and sisters, and birth dates and death dates, if possible. Benjamin and Lydia moved from RI to Muskingum County, Ohio in the early 1820-30's and Benjamin was postmaster of Norwich from 1841 until his death in 1843. I would like to talk to anyone researching this family or anyone who is a relative.
I am researching the ancestry of Hannah BEEBE, B. Jul 1786 in Newport d. Aug 1872 in New Bedford, MA. She was the daughter of Nathan BEEBE and Elizabeth SKINNER, both of Newport,RI. I believe Nathan BEEBE was b. Newport 1748 and Elizabeth SKINNER b. 1750 possibly in Newport. Also this family spent some time on Nantucket during the early part of the 19th century. I would like to know more about both the ancestry of both the BEEBE's and the SKINNER's. I have determined that Nathan was not from the large BEEBE family that settled in Connecticut.
