HORTON, william henry (bn.1809-10)RI According to an 1850 census and a Iowa State 1856 census Wm. was born in RI. The earliest date we've been able to locate him at is when he bought land in Browns Township, Carroll Co., Ohio. Information I received from a genealogist is that he thinks he may be one of three sons born to a Jonathan P. HORTON of Tiverton, Newport Co., RI according to an 1810 RI census. He married a Mary BARKER in OH in Nov 1837 and a Lucinda HORTON was born to them. Mary BARKER died and then Wm. married a Mary CRIPLIVER NORRICK and they had a son Isaac S. HORTON. I'm really trying to determine just where in RI he was born and whom his parents were? He is buried in the Dayton Cemetery in Iowa Co, IA and his tombstone is dated Jan. 12,1859, at 49 years of age which tells me he would have been born in 1810. Any information mentioning a William Henry HORTON in RI of the circa 1800-10 would be most welcome and I do thank you. Ron

Where may I find an early map of Portsmouth, ca. 1600/1700? I am interested in such sites as East Main Road, Hunting Swamp, Long Swamp, Quaker Hill, Union Street, Mill Swamp, Wapping Road, Sandy Point Road and Braman Lane. My ancestor Thomas LAWTON (1) owned property in these areas, and refers to them in his will. I would appreciate any help.
Does anyone have any knowledge of the SISSON graves that were removed from the SISSON homestead at Mintwater Brook farm, on the East Main Road. They had been there since the late 1600's, but were moved in the 1920's. They contained our earliest SISSON ancestors. They were supposedly moved to a cemetery. Please let me know if you have any information about this moved cemetery.
