Can anyone suggest a new direction for me? I am researching the surname CHAMBERS. Specifically, John Chambers went with the group from Newport, RI in 1761 and settled Newport, Nova Scotia. Is there a way to find any of his sons who might have returned to Rhode Island? I have taken my CHAMBERS line back to Robert CHAMBERS born in Nova Scotia around 1800, married to Catherine MILLER/MILLAR. This Robert Chambers is said to be the brother of Samuel Chambers, son of William, son of John. But also he might have been the son of Alexander CHAMBERS, son of John. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

I would like information on James & Sarah A BRIERLEY (d. 23 Oct 1905 and 2 Dec 1914, respectively), who are buried in Braman Cemetery on Farewell St. in Newport per the RIGenWeb cemetery page. I live in California and cannot go there; I'd like to know if any family members are buried there (or a picture of their stone). I'd also like to know if their death certificates show the home residence, or next of kin. How would I go about requesting those? Thanks, Kate

Seeking info on Hiram SCOTT b.abt 1796 RI. Trying to verify his birth in JAMESTOWN (?) RI and who his father was. SCOTT is strong surname in Newport County area. Hiram migrated to Georgia in 1820's. Listed in 1850 Wilkinson Co, GA census as age 54, birth state as "CT". Listed in 1860/1870 Washington Co, GA census - birth state as "RI". Suspect he may have been born in Jamestown, RI for following reason. Found reference to German Hessian garrision encampment at Jamestown RI during Revolutionary War being referred to as "CONNONICUT". Think this would explain the different state of birth references in the Georgia census mentioned above. Need assistance in linking this GA family relative back to his family roots in RI. Any info, references, or contacts much appreicated.

Iím looking for any proven information on the father of Rev. Hugh MOSHER born ~1633 who married Rebecca MAXSON born ~1640. Iím pretty sure his mother was Lydia MAXSON born between 1581 and 1627 in England (also, is she related to Richard MAGGESON (MAXSON, MAGGLSON) born between 1568 and 1625 in England Ė his sister maybe?), but Iíve found his father listed as: Nicholas MOGER (or MOSHER) born 1696, Ezekiel MOSHER born 1607, and Hugh MOSHER (or MOGER) born anywhere between 1571-1603. Someone even shows Lydia married (at different times, I hope!) to both a Hugh and a Nicholas. Does anyone have definitive info on this? Also, did Rev. Hugh have a sister Mary who married John MAXSON I born 24 Mar 1638 Portsmouth, Newport Co, RI, or was Mary from a different line Ė canít find her father either?
