Query / Surname Information

Thank you for stopping for a minute to read this. The Romania Genealogy Page is proud to be a member of the Romania Message Board:

1) post your surnames and queries to the Romania message board,
2) be notified of new postings or responses to your post,
3) view and respond to the postings of others,
4) search the country and other countries that participate in the system.

To post your surnames and queries, go back to the main page and click on the "View/Post" link from the appropriate District, located in the Administrative District chart. We strongly recommend that you post to the District that your ancestor was from - if you don't know, first try to locate the District on our Guide to Locating your Town page.

QUERIES AND SURNAMES ARE NOW POSTED IN ONE SYSTEM!

A successful posting will include as much information as possible.

Include everything you know in your posting, ie. possible name variations, dates that you know, what information you have, what information you are looking for, city/village names, etc. The more you include, the better your results will be.

Before Posting, please try to locate the City/Village and District of the surnames you are researching. This is important for a variety of reasons including more successful research results for you! If you need help, see the Guide to Locating your Town.

If you still do not know the District, make sure you pick the unknown category. In your posting, please try and give an area, i.e. North, South, etc., where you think they might be from. Narrowing down your query might give you better results. Many of the same surnames are found throughout Romania.

FILLING IN THE POSTING FORM

* PLEASE POST EACH SURNAME IN A SINGLE POSTING *

1) Enter: your name, email address, and Surnames in ALL CAPS

2) Enter: your message, ie. the information that you know & the information you are seeking.

3) If you have a home page, enter the address AND page title.

4) If you wish to be notified of ALL postings, fill in the bottom field with your email address.
