LEDGER NOTES:

  • First determine the individual's Will "Page #" from the following Name Index.

  • Then visit the above appropriate "Part # Link" for Will viewing.

  • The available for scanning new-style Will ledgers consisted of copies-of-copies.  So you should expect missing pages, blank pages, incorrect page numbering, clipped pages or difficult to read Wills.  Refer to IMAGES OF ORIGINAL WILLS if necessary.

  • Some ledgers use consecutive page numbering and others simply use individual Wills numbers.

  • Many female names have an initial(s) after their first name.  Example: Jane L. Doe .  The "L." could mean that her middle name is "Louise."  It could also mean that her maiden name was "Lightfoot."  Jane L.L. Doe could also mean Jane Louise Lightfoot-Doe.
