Owens Family Bible

Thanks to  Jean Mizell for contributing this information
Dixon Owens and his family came from Dunbarton, Barnwell County, South
Carolina. The little town of Dunbarton, S. C. has now vanished from the
South Carolina map since the Savannah River Project atomic energy plant
was established there back in 1952. Dixon and his parents, E. D. and
Lavina Owens, are listed in the 1870 Barnwell County, SC Census. Dixon
Owens and his family traveled from South Carolina to the little
settlement of Winona, Ga, near Moniac Georgia and the Florida state line
in the early 1900's, then some moved on down to Callahan, Jacksonville,
Sebastian and Tampa, Florida, shortly afterward.
