Burnt Savanna

The next plantation was Burnt Savanna, now a part of Belle Isle. For some time before the revolution this place was the residence of General Marion, and in its retirement he probably prepared himself for the part he was to act in that stormy period. He married late in life Mary Videau, and died childless in 1795.
