A daughter of the late Chalmers Williams and the late Myrtle Baker Williams. She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Godbee, two sons Bobby Walden and Ray Henson, a sister Brenda W. Henson and a brother Roger Williams and five grandchildren.

Mr. Wilson, 76, died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. Born in Great Falls on October 14, 1921, he was a son of the late Mr. John T. Doster and the late Mrs. Vermell Robinson Doster. He was the widower of Mrs. Mary Lou Osborne Wilson. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by a son, Jimmy Wilson of Great Falls; three daughters, Mrs. Emmie Lewis of Blair, and Mrs. Gail Dixon and Mrs. Wanda Capps, both of Great Falls; four sisters, Mrs. Billy Mobley, Mrs. Pansy Case and Mrs. Louise Helms, all of Great Falls, and Mrs. Wilma Nunnally of Chandler, Arizona, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

CARTER: Mr. Charles Richard (Buck) Carter - The funeral for Mr. Charles Richard (Buck) Carter was conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 16th from the First Baptist Church in Great Falls with the Rev. Doug Irvin, Rev. Guy Oliver and Rev. Howard Wimmer officiating. Interment was made in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Carter, 64, died Monday, April 13, 1998, at Providence Hospital in Columbia. Born in Rock Hill on February 22, 1934, he was a son of the late Mr. Luke O. Carter and the late Mrs. Ola Temple Carter. He was the husband of Mr. Ursula Lawson Carter. He was a computer operator with Morrison’s Textile Machinery Company in Fort Lawn. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. In addition to his wife, Ursula, of the home, he is survived by three sons, Kenneth George Lawson, Richard E. Lawson, and Robert T. Lawson, all of Columbia; a sister, Mrs. Margie Carter of Great Falls; three grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
  141. The funeral for Mr. Fred (Wild Man) Chavis of 7807 Henry Harris Road, Indain Land, was conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, from Blessed Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Pressley officiating. Interment was made in Greenlawn Cemetery at Great Falls with Wolfe Funeral Home of Fort Mill in charge of arrangements.
  142. Mr. Chavis, 47, died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.

    Born in Hamlet, N. C., on Sept. 9, 1950, he was a son of the late Mr. William Edward Chavis and the late Mrs. Geraldine Geneva Belue Chavis. He was the husband for some 22 years of Mrs. Brenda Coan Chavis.

    Mr. Chavis was employed with McClancy Seasoning Corporation in Indian Land.

    He was a GoKart enthusiast, holding state and national championships in the World Karting Association. He was also a member of the ASAI.

    In addition to his wife, Brenda, of the home, he is survived by a son, Andrew Wright of Indian Land; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Missy and Michael Dietrich, Tina and Jeff Dabbs of Indian Land, and Robin Blackmon of Jefferson; a brother, William Chavis of Swansea; two sisters, Mrs. Jewel Powell of Gaston and Mrs. Elizabeth Grooms of Chesterfield; and four grandchildren.

    The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 2535, Rock Hill, 29732, or the charity of one’s choice.

  143. The funeral for Mrs. Tabitha Farmer Koon of 5838 Old Winnsboro Road, Great Falls, was conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 13, (1998)from the Second Baptist Church of Great Falls with the Rev. Dr. Todd Morris and the Rev. Terry Norris officiating. Interment was made in Greenlawn Cemetery, Great Falls, with Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
  144. Mrs. Koon, 20, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998 of injuries sustained in a traffic accident at Franklin, N. C. . Born in Rabun County, GA, on April 19, 1978, she was a daughter of Mr. William Keith Farmer and Mrs. Debra Nation Vinson. She was the wife of Mr. Jeff Koon.

    Mrs. Koon attended the Beacon Baptist Church in Lancaster.

    In addition to her husband, Jeff, of Great Falls, she is survived by a daughter, Kayla Annette Koon of the home; her mother and step-father, Debra Nation Vinson and Allen Vinson of Otto, N.C.; her father and step-mother, William Keith Farmer and Debra Roof Farmer of Chester; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Nancy Penland of Chester; paternal grandfather, Bill Farmer of Chester; a half-sister, Jaclyn Farmer of Chester; and a step-brother, Brian Harris of Great Falls.

  145. The funeral for Mr. Edward Thomas (Butch) Mosley of 1050 15th St., Lancaster, was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at the graveside in Greenlawn Cemetery in Great Falls with the Rev. Mike Sollers officiating. Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
  146. Mr. Mosley, 59, died Friday, June 12, 1998, at his home.

    Born in Lancaster on March 24, 1939, he was a son of the late Mr. Joseph Kershaw Mosley and the late Mrs. Edith Pate Funderburk. He was the husband of Mrs. Annie Mae Bennett Mosley.

    Educated in the schools of Lancaster County, he was a former employee of J. P. Stevens.

    In addition to his wife, Annie Mae, he is survived by a son, Scooter Mosley of Great Falls; two step-daughters, Tracy Hensley of Lancaster and Rachel Sims of Great Falls; five brothers, Joe Mosley of Lancaster, Marion Funderburk of Barnwell, S.C., and Donald Funderburk, Hazel Funderburk and Ronny Funderburk, all of Great Falls; four sisters, Nancy M. Blackmon of Lancaster, Nancy F. Price of Fort Lawn, Marcine Roberts of Great Falls, and Diane King of Columbia; and three grandchildren.

  147. The funeral for Mr. Ronnie Eugene Vanderford of 109 Locust St., Great Falls, was conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, from the Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home with Chaplain Miriam Mick officiating. (Interment is not listed in the obituary)
  148. Mr. Vanderford, 37, died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.

    Born in Fairfield County on September 4, 1960, he was a son of Mrs. Helen Deaton Vanderford and the late Mr. William Walter Vanderford, Sr. He was the husband of Mrs. Chrystal Terry Vanderford.

    Mr. Vanderford was employed with Springs Industries.

    In Addition to his wife, Chrystal, he is survived by two sons, Jonathan Vanderford and Bradley Vanderford, both of the home; his mother, Mrs. Helen Vanderford of Winnsboro; a brother, Laney Vanderford of Winnsboro; a sister, Mrs. Teresa Bradshaw of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; maternal grandparents, John and Fannie Deaton of Spartanburg; four nieces and two nephews.

  149. The funeral for Mrs. Etta Deese Brasington of 16 Seaboard St., Great Falls, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2, from the Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Irvin officiating. Interment will be made in Greenlawn Cemetery with Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
  150. Mrs. Brasington, 80, died Monday, June 29, 1998, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.

    Born in Lancaster County on August 5, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Mr. William Tall Deese and the late Mrs. Alice Mackey Deese. She was the widow of Mr. William V. Brasington.

    Mrs. Brasington attended the schools of Lancaster County and was a homemaker.

    She is survived by two sons, William L. Brasington of Great Falls and John M. Brasington of Charlotte; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Stevenson of Great Falls, Mrs. Betty O’Donnell of Camden, Mrs. Ruth Morrow of Lugoff, and Mrs. Sara Paul of Charlotte; 19 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

    In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ray J. Brasington.

    The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, in the Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 28 Underwood Ave., Great Falls.

  151. A memorial service for Mrs. Patricia (Patty) Killian Pendergrass, of 28 Argonne Sr., Great Falls, was conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 1998, at Trinity Baptist Church, with the Rev. Darrell Twitty officiating. Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Pendergrass, 64, died Friday, July 3, 1998, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.

Born in Great Falls on January 7, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Mr. Wilburn Lee Killian and the late Mrs. Pearl Day Killian Martin. She was the wife of Mr. Joe v. Pendergrass.

Mrs. Pendergrass was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Great Falls. She was a graduate of Great Falls High School.

In addition to her husband, Joe V., of the home, she is survived by two sons, Victor Joe Pendergrass of Gastonia, N. C., and Dwight Douglas Pendergrass of McDonough, GA; two daughters, Mrs. Cassandra P. Boatwright of Batesburg-Leesville, SC, and Mrs. Delia P. Brown of Irmo; her stepfather, Eric Lee Martin of Great Falls; a sister, Mrs. Vickie M. Granger of Camden; and seven grandchildren.
