Coach Jim Sprott required his history
classes to do a project when he was teaching at Manning Middle
School. He had a copy of the American Legion's list of WWI & WWII
veterans from Clarendon County, but found it to be lacking quite a
few soldiers and it had no blacks listed. He gave extra credit to his
students for bringing in pictures and information about veterans not
listed in the book. In 1998 Coach Sprott donated his students'
projects to the Clarendon County Archives. Two of the pictures became
separated from their information and Windy Corbett, archivist would
like to find out who the indivuduals are. From the condition of the
photos and uniforms of the individuals, they are probably Vietnam era
veterans. They are most definitely from Clarendon County. If you have
any knowledge of who either of the two veterans are, please let
