Volunteer Information
Specialists (VIS) Committee
The
Volunteer Information Specialists (VIS) Committee is a group of Daughters who
volunteer their skills to advance DAR through computer technology. We are
always looking for new volunteers!
VIS volunteers work on
the chapter, state, and national level in the following ways:
- Design, build, maintain, and review
chapter, state, and committee sites on the national DAR Members' Web Site
- Create writable PDF forms for NSDAR
- Maintain chapter and state email
contacts
- Monitor Internet messages boards for DAR
membership queries
- Assist and direct prospective members to
the NSDAR web site
- Create chapter yearbooks, labels,
programs, and nametags
- Create certificates and awards
- Index history books, genealogical
records, and directories
- And much MORE!
Objectives
- Provide solutions for DAR concerns using
the latest computer technology.
- Promote awareness of DAR and its
objectives to the public through the creation and maintenance of chapter
and state web sites.
- Provide skilled computer users as
volunteers to assist the National Society, state societies, districts, and
chapters.
- Convey factual and correct information using
rapid electronic communication.
- Promote friendships, unity, and sharing
of ideas among Daughters worldwide.
We encourage
Daughters to volunteer
their computer skills to help DAR achieve our objectives!
