Com. C. was engaged in the battle of
Gettysburg on the first day of July and
under a severe shelling on the second
and third of July 1863
Then participated in the march to Hagerstown
and was there thrown out as skirmishers
but not immediately engaged
and marching to Falling Waters was
engaged in a Cavalry skirmish.

      I certify, on honor, that this Muster Roll is made out in the manner required by the printed notes;
that it exhibits the true state of Captain J A Hinnant                                              Company
( C ) of the       12th                                 Regiment of    SCV                         for the
period herein mentioned; that the "Remarks" set opposite the name of each officer and soldier are accu-
rate and just; and that the "Recapitulation" exhibits in every particular the true state of the company, as
required by Regulations and the Rules and Articles of War.
