Melinda says, it's mostly pictures, but maybe someone would wish to find
an old building or school. I found the orginial church my family attended
in the 1800's.

Columbia newspapers were regional and carried notices from
Richland, Fairfield, Newberry, and other counties. One newspaper
included in this work is the South Carolina Temperance Advocate,
which carried notices from all over South Carolina.

This book contains only name, regiment, company, and rank and was
extracted from National Archive Records.
This book does not contain all SC units, since there is no source of all
the troops from SC who served. Some of the State Troop units (especially
those raised in the last year of the war) are all but lost to history.
SC was a rabid secessionist state and many men crossed into North
Carolina and Georgia to join there, where a bounty was needed to fill
their needs. These men ARE NOT in this book. There are men who were
born outside of SC and who joined a SC unit who will be here.

says, I will respond to only those who provide a surname and a
given name or initials. I will ignore requests that I lookup & list
everyone of a surname. I will look for close hits but will not look at
every possible spelling.
The book contains genealogical details (ancestry, descendancy and family
stories) of about 17 Weaver families who were in Georgia prior to (or
by) the 1850 Census. The book is 555 pages and indexes over 6,000 names.
The information documents the various migrations of the Weaver families
from Virginia and the Carolinas into Georgia, and then the westward
trek to Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas and further.
