Doing research in the “Golden Corner” of South Carolina (Anderson-Oconee-Pickens Counties) might be time consuming for you, because of how these counties were formed. Based on your time-period, you might need to research all (3) counties.

the 96th Judicial District from Indian Country.
-
In 1795 Pendleton County was placed in the Washington Judicial District.

and Washington Judicial District was discontinued.
-

-
Current-day Anderson County represents the old Anderson District.
-
Current-day Pickens County represents part of old Pickens District.
-
Current-day Oconee County represents part of old Pickens County & added Indian
Land.

This 35,000 tombstone inscription database for Oconee county, is available due to the "unbelievable" compiling work of Ann Rogers of Walhalla and the "continuous" 2-year typing effort of Jennie Boggs of Six-Mile! Additional typing was also done by Tracy Bergeson, Rudy Northdorf, Vivian Parkman, Carolyn Ring & Rachel Smith.
Ann Rogers's tombstone inscription compiling work was started in the early 1980's.
Although Ann suspended the practice of actually visiting cemeteries, that did not stop her compiling efforts. Included in this database, are the Keowee Courier Newspaper's Obituary Notices, that were published prior to mid-2001. As of 2009, it's unknown if she still continues this practice.
Ann has donated close to 200' of expensive index cards and their wooden file holders to the Walhalla Library. There's no credit plaque at the library that acknowledges who did all this volunteer work.
