Will of John Palmer |
Made 20 Nov 1826 (per his tombstone, John Palmer died 28 Jan 1828.)
In the name of God amen I John Palmer of the State and District
aforesaid being of perfect mind & memory do make this my last will and
Testament in the following manner First of all i give myself to God, and
as for my wordly goods after my debts are paid, my will is that my
beloved wife Hannah Palmer Shall have the tract of Land that I bought of
Able Ezell Containing ninty four & a half Acres together with three
Negroes Dick, Vine and charrity and three head of horse beasts, Bony
Filly & Paddy also Eight head of Cattle, Four feather Beds & furniture
Fifteen head of hogs, One waggon, and all the working Tools belonging to
the plantation that I bought of Able Ezell which Said property is
included and mentioned in an agreement made and Entered into between the
said Hannah & myself previous to our Intermarriage and I give the same
to her & her heirs forever and no more
2nd My will is that my Son Amasa Palmer have one Negro woman named letty
to make him Equeal with them that has deeds of gift-----
3rd My will is that my son Hezekiah have one Stud horse Named Rover and
one mare Named Elevent to Make him Equeal with them that had deeds of
gift-----
4th My will is that my Daughter Nancy Edwards have her Note for two
hundred & fifty Dollars that I lent her two hundred fifty Dollars in
money to make her Equeal with them that had deeds of Gift-----
Lastly My will is that all the rest of my property be Equeally Divided
betwen my Eight Children & my Grandson William Palmer, Namly Amasa,
Hezekiah, Nancy John, Sally Rebekah, Ellis, & Rhoda for Which I appoint
my son Ellis Palmer & Isaac Joins Execeters to Execute this my last will
as if I was Pressent my self Hereby Revoking and Making void all former
wills by me made and declaring this to be my last will & testament In
witness whereof I have hereunto set my had & affixed my seal this
twentieth of November one thousand Eight hundred & twenty Six & in the
fiftieth year of American Independence
Signed Seal,d and declared by the Said John Palmer as and for his Last
will & testament in presence of us
