ALEXANDER, John
My oldest known direct ancestor is John Alexander (born 1804, Union County, SC). There are several Alexanders listed in a book entitled the "History of the Padgett Creek Baptist Church" as some of the original members of the church in the late 1700s. Several of their names are used extensively throughout our family tree (e.g. William, Lewis, James, John, etc). It is quite possible that one of them may be John Alexander's father. I am looking for the name of John Alexander's father and confirmation of this fact. John subsequently left SC and became one of the early settlers of Pickens County Alabama. He is listed in the book "Early Settlers of Pickens County Alabama" along with wife and children.
