RE: I'm seeking information on the parents of Curtis Caldwell,who died in Union County, 96 District, 5 June 1784. He married Sarah Fondren. I believe they had one child,Matthew, born in 1763. I just can't get the identification of Curtis' parents or from where he came? I've had good luck tracking my ancestors, but everything comes to a halt when I try to get pass Curtis. Can you help? I researching Joseph P CALDWELL(1772-1853). He married Sarah GILLEY (1776-1855). They had the following children: Solomon M(b 1798), Elizabeth(b 1800), William B(b 1802), Mary C(b 1804), Martha(1806-1838), Robert R(1808-1863), Mary Jane(1810-1873), Lucinda(1815). The family moved to McMinn County, TN in the 1820's.

JAMES OLIVER CARTER (b.c. 1856, Union Co, SC; d. 1937, Union Co, SC) and his wife, NANCY (PAGE) CARTER (b. 1856, Union Co., SC; d.c 1929/30, Union Co. SC) were my great-grandparents. They had nine children, THOMAS JEFFERSON CARTER, SR. being my grandfather. JAMES OLIVER CARTER was apparently the son of VANDYNE S. and ELIZABETH (BETSY) WARD, daughter of Absolom and Nancy Ward. ELIZABETH (GASTON) CARTER was Vandyne's mother. NANCY "NANNIE" PAGE was the daughter of WILLIAM J. PAGE and his second wife, RUHAMA. RUHAMA's maiden name may have been PAULK? I am lookin for information concerning Mordecai CHANDLER and his wife Elizabeth CHANDLER (formerly MUSGROVE or MUSGRAVE). They were married in Union SC Dec. 25, 1785. Elizabeth Chandler appears in the 1850 census. I am looking for any information; Birth dates, children, and specifically ancestors and places of birth and /or immigration. I have the name of their daughter, Jane, who married William Salter and her date of birth (April 1, 1842) and the fact that she married William Salter. Mordecai and Elizabeth are both dead ends in the information I have at hand, so any information on their antecedents would help greatly.

Am a descendant of Anne CHASTAIN-Claude PHILLIPE de Richebourge, who emigrated to Santee River in 1711. Their daughter, Susanne, married a COLEMAN (lst name unknown)-and THEIR 2 daughters married and lived in Union Co. Lucy COLEMAN married Thomas DRAPER; Frances COLEMAN married Zacharias GIBBS. The Gibbs lived at 3 Cross Roads, in 96, but Frances died with small pox, Zach was a Loyalist and deported. Their little daughters lived with a GIBBS aunt married to a COOK or COOKE. Wish to trace the second daughter, Martha GIBBS, who married Henry HUDDLESTON (1) and (2) wish to find who the COLEMAN was that married Susanne Phillipe and (3) wish to find a marriage record for Frances COLEMAN and Zachariah GIBBS. We know the COLEMAN-DRAPER family moved to Union, SC circa 1760, that Z GIBBS owned land in 96 by 1772.

My ancestor is John CHESNEY and he was in Texas by 1825. He married Elizabeth CASTLEMAN on May 14, 1830, daughter of Sylvanus CASTLEMAN and Elizabeth LUCAS from Davidson Co. Tn. Another daughter married into the CROWNOVER Family. They all received land when Stephen F. AUSTIN handed out land grants. I do not know where John CHESNEY was born or his parents. Looking for information on Susan Chick(African/Indian) living in Goshen Hill Township in 1880. She is the mother of General (my ggrandfather),Corrie, Alexander, Ann, Albert, Will, Mary, and Hannah. She was born in 1830 in Virginia but lived in Union in late 1880's. I would like more information on the family and would like to find the name of her husband who died in 1870's. In early 1900's the name was recorded in the family bible as Cheak , Cheek. But in the Census it is Chick sometimes.

Amy HILL CLARK last found 14 Nov 1826 when signed deed giving up right to her brother's, Major HILL, estate.

I am looking for someone who has possibly seen the Will of ROBERT COLEMAN who died re 1783 in Old District 98, Union, South Carolina. He had married an Ann Hinton. His Will was Adm. by Thomas & Lucy Draper. This Robert Coleman was from Amelia Co., Lunenburg Co., and Mecklenburg Co., before migrating to Union, SC re 1760's. One of his son's was a Christopher Coleman. Lucy Coleman and Frances Coleman are believed to have been his sisters.

Seeking info on ancestors and decendants of William Fletcher COOPER, born April 1847, Union District, South Carolina. This COOPER family later moved to Morgan County, (Danville) Alabama, and are later found in Hill County (Woodbury), Texas as of about 1874. William Fletcher COOPER served in the Confederate Calvary 1864-1865. He married a Malinda Jane EVANS. Mr. COOPER died 11 December, 1931, Hill County, (Woodbury), Texas.

Seeking the parents of James W. COOPER, b. 1826 SC, d. 1865 TX, m.(2) 1849 in Union Co. to Amelia BOBO b. 1827 in Union Co. d. 1902 in Carroll Co., GA, the daughter of Jeremiah BOBO and Mary DODD of Union Co. No connection has been found between this James W. COOPER and the sons of William COOPER, Sr., i.e. Stacy, Nathan, Samuel, David, et al by myself or several noted researchers, or to any other COOPER of the surrounding counties. He was on several coroner's juries in lower Union County, and was the executor (1855) for the estate of Jeremiah BOBO. In 1860 he was farm manager for the widow Sarah JONES, nee HILL in the Padgett's Creek - Tyger River area. Children, all born in Union Co. were: Nancy J.; Mary Lougenia; Jones Hill; and Lydia. Any help in locating his parents will be appreciated.

I was born in Union, and my grandparents lived in Monarch. My Grandfather was LEWIS CROCKER, and my grandmother was ETOLIA (CRAIG) CROCKER. They had two sons FORREST and JULIUS, who both have residences in South Carolina. I recently found out the name of my grandfather Lewis CROCKER's parents were Richard and Lula (GRADY) CROCKER. I now live in Georgia, and I just purchased my computer, and I am interested in researching my family tree, so I am a beginner. I also have relatives in Union= SUMNERS, PUCKETTS, MAYES. My aunt had managed the Catos on Main St in Union years ago. My grandfather on my mother's side was ERNEST T. FORD. He lived on the Jonesville highway. My grandmother was Mae (Douglas) FORD.
