EDWARDS, Jane ? - Wife of
John F.
My ancestor, John F. EDWARDS died in Union County in about
1843. An 1844 petition to probate court listed "his wife,
Jane" and sons George Columbus EDWARDS, Joseph M. EDWARDS,
and Thomas EDWARDS. From family tradition, I know that
"Jane" then married Edwin GREGORY, a cousin of either
herself or of John F. EDWARDS and that George Columbus
EDWARDS then went to Mississippi to live with some GREGORIES
near Louisville. It is also a tradition that Jane and Edwin
GREGORY later moved to Mississippi, but I have no
information concerning their whereabouts there. I'm
wondering if there is a descendent of either Joseph M. or
Thomas EDWARDS or a GREGORY that might have the maiden name
of "Jane" in family records. Any help will be the answer to
a longtime family mystery.

ESTES / ROOK
Need proof that Susannah Estes (1815-1845), first wife of
William Malone, Jr., was a daughter of Wesley Estes, whose
name appears on the 1840 census of Union District, SC.
Interested in any ROOKs in Union County. Jonathan Holcomb
(c1785-1880) married first Unity Rook, who died about 1846.
She is probably a daughter of Emanuel Rook of Union
District, but need proof.

EZELL
Searching for family of WILLIAM EDWARD EZELL, b VA 1816.
Parents unknown. After leaving VA, lived for a time in SC,
NC, then to KY where 6 children were born, then to MO . He
married a LOUISA V. COX IN Bowling Green, KY 1847. He was
listed on 1850 KY census for Logan County. I found name of
Wm. EZELL on internet SC Probate Records of Union Co.; also
a JOEL EZELL; Box 19, PACK 8, 1831 for Joel; Box 17, Pack
18, 1829 for William. This William could possibly by father
to William Edward. Have been searching for a year for his
ancestors in effort to tie him to VA ancestors. We think
possibly he could be tied to a WYATT, OR A BURKET EZELL, a
name that appears in decendants families.
