KELLY / HAMES
Searching for information regarding Thomas KELLY (1784-1866)
primarily the names of his parents as well as the dates and
places of their birth. Thomas KELLY was married three times
to: Rebecca GAULT, Molley HAMES and lastly to Melissa HAMES
(1808-1879); the sister of Molly. Thomas and Melissa had at
least three children, one of which was Jameson G. KELLY
(1836-1906). I am descended from this line. The HAMES
sisters were the children of Thomas HAMES who was the son of
Charles and Catherine KRUGG HAMES. The name of Thomas KELLY
is found on the US census list from 1820-1850 in Union
County. The 1850 census lists his residence as
Pinckneyville. I know he is buried in the KELLY
cemetary.

KENNEDY
I am interested in Edmond or Edmund Kennedy who lived in
Union County S.C. probably from 1765 to 1785 or so. He is
listed as a Grand Juror in 1779. He lived on Thicketty Creek
with the Jolly family. His wife may have been Hannah Lusk.
He moved with the Jollys to the Anderson , Abbeville area
around 1785. He is first noted in 1762 in Pitt Co. N.C. with
dealings with the Jollys (as are the Jollys)and Francis
McNamar. He may have moved to Rutherford Co. N.C. around
1782 as he is listed on the Tax Rolls. He had at least 17
children and married second Jane Boggs by who he had 5 of
these children. Many of descendants are named the same as
the Jollys such as Wilson, and Joseph Jolly. One of his
grandaughters a daughter of Edmond Jr. and Sarah Randolph
married James Jolly of the Anderson District.
